At Conrad Ranch, love runs deep in the roots of the land—and it began with a beautiful courtship that feels like something out of a storybook. While building the original homestead in stunning Provo Canyon, my grandfather, Albert Conrad, would ride his horse down from Big Springs through Rock Canyon to visit my grandmother, Vilate Penrod, who lived in the Riverwoods of Provo. After long evenings spent together, courting- he'd ride home under the stars, often drifting to sleep in the saddle. But his loyal horse knew the way—gently neighing and shaking him awake when they reached home.
