Looking for a date night that’s creative, fun, and full of laughs? Join us at DIY BAR for Paint Your Partner (or Pal) Night! 🖌️🍷

No art skills required! (As you can see from our paintings 😂)

This workshop is more about having a good time, connecting with your partner, and laughing until it hurts.

$75 includes all the supplies for 2 (11" x 14") portraits + a box of 4 delicious chocolate truffles from Missionary Chocolates! Drinks sold separately.

PAINTED PET PORTRAIT

February 11, 6pm - 9pm

Erinn Kathryn is an interdisciplinary artist who works in sculpture, mixed media, painting, and installation.

If you have a fur baby, armadillo, or any pet that you’d like to immortalize, this is the workshop for you.

Erinn will guide you through the painting process, and you’ll leave with the cutest little portrait!

Dry January doesn't equate to boring. We've got quite the lineup of fun NA drinks to pair perfectly with some crafts!

80% - 90% of New Year's resolutions fail, but breaking habits down to smaller goals can help you achieve them. Taking a month off of drinking alcohol can help you reset and rethink about your relationship with it. 7 years ago I went to take some time off from alcohol and haven't gone back yet. 🙃

Long post alert! 👋

Hello everyone! We have some new followers so I hope this post will fill in what's happened the last couple of years and introduce a new face. 

If you're not familiar with the guys in the first photo, that's Jason (my brother and old biz partner) and myself (Adam). 

We opened DIY BAR in 2017 because we wanted to share the feeling of satisfaction and accomplishment that comes from making things. We wanted a place where adults could feel like kids again and connect with themselves and others through arts and crafts. 

From an early age, we were always working on projects. Jason built a skatepark in our driveway and his love for building things has never stopped. I've always dabbled in multiple mediums and love learning new skills. 

Neither of us had much service industry experience before starting DIY BAR. But what we did have was a Midwestern upbringing and learned from the best about what it means to provide hospitality.

Our first goal at DIY BAR is to provide a welcoming space to all. Arts and crafts can be intimidating, but our hope is to break down those barriers and help people feel good about the process and results. 

By 2019 we started opening another location. We signed a lease in Seattle (3rd photo) and sent our designs to the permitting department when COVID broke out. After a lot of consideration, we decided to break the Seattle lease and focus on our home location in Portland. 

We *thankfully* made it through COVID and as of now, Jason has taken a step out and my wife Kailey (4th photo) and I run the business together! She's been in the service industry for 14 years and has some of the best restaurants in Portland under her belt. 

2024 has been rough for so many small businesses, including ours. Still, we’re SO grateful we get to continue to connect with you all! 

Every session you book, every gift card gifted, and every person you share your experience with means so much to us! Thank you for your continued support!

We'll guide you through wreath making step by step, and in the end you'll be going home with your very own! We'll have a variety of winter greens and some pine cones if you'd like to keep it au naturel, or some add ons like DIY bows and jingle bells to keep it festive!

Hot spiced wine will be served! 🍷

Last year these workshops sold out, so we suggest booking them early if you know you'd like to participate. 😊 Our first one is more than half full already. 🎉

This workshop includes live instruction + all the materials needed to complete a portrait of your loved one in a welcoming group setting! Make sure to book at least 5 days in advance so the artist can prep your photos! There's a minimum of 2 total reservations for this workshop to run.
