Did you miss our last indigo dye workshop? If so, we'll be having our final one of summer this Sunday!

We've also got painted pet portraits, and an amazing collaboration with Carter and Rose - ceramic snakes - coming up!

INDIGO DYE WORKSHOP!

August 17th, 11am - 2pm

Watch your pieces turn from green to indigo as they oxidize!

Grab a friend or three and learn some of the basics of indigo dying! This workshop is a hybrid of hands on instruction, and go at your own pace.

The workshop includes 4 tea towels, and you can bring up to 2 small (like a shirt or pillow case) natural fiber (cotton, linen, h**p, wool, silk) items as well!

Extra tea towels will be available for purchase for $5 each.

If the weather is nice we'll be hanging out in our back courtyard. ☀️😎

PAINTED PET PORTRAIT

August 28th, September 18th, or October 23rd 6pm - 9pm

Erinn Kathryn is an interdisciplinary artist who works in sculpture, mixed media, painting, and installation.

If you have a fur baby, armadillo, or any pet that you’d like to immortalize, this is the workshop for you.

Erinn will guide you through the painting process, and you’ll leave with the cutest little portrait!

CERAMIC SNAKE WORKSHOP

September 4th, 6pm - 9pm

Do you love Carter + Rose ceramic snakes? Well, here's your chance to make your own snake with Ann, the snake queen! Make this a cute date night with your bestie or love!

Each participant will get to make 3 snakes! 🐍🐍🐍

All materials and clay firing are included.

Projects will be ready to pick up and Carter + Rose 10-14 days after completion.

Who's ready to get crafty this weekend?!

Grab a friend or 5 and learn something new, or hone your skills on a medium you've already tried.

We've got:

Macrame (with 7 different colors)

Leather (dye it whatever color you'd like)

Wood

Cement

And Kokedama!

We've recently started offering a 10% discount for imperfect leather and wood. These pieces are still really nice, but it just makes it easier for us to cut down the leather and wood, so we're passing the savings on to you!

For leather it might be a bug bite, brand, or scar.

For wood it might be a little crack, or a big knot.

Either way they help the pieces look even more unique, and it's fun to work with a not so perfect slate!

You can see what an imperfect piece of leather could look like in photo 2!

We currently have imperfect leather and wood for every project!

What a dreamy weekend! put on Joyride which was nestled into the White River Canyon. It was full of cycling, yoga, great foods, the coolest people, silent disco, river floats, and of course some indigo dyeing!

Our first indigo dye workshop of the summer at our space is quickly approaching!

On August 3rd at 11am we'll be gathering at DIY BAR to walk folks through how to indigo dye 4 tea towels each.

You can bring up to 2 small natural fiber items as well (think cotton shirt, pillow case, or pants!)

Maybe this kokedama will catch your eye? Or maybe these words? :)

It's been a while since I've been on social media / Instagram.

I get overwhelmed when I'm on here, and find myself getting stuck.

Stuck browsing things that the algorithm is feeding me, or stuck judging myself for not doing enough.

I get upset with social media companies holding our attention better than some of our loved ones can.

Afterwards I never feel really great. 🫩

I don't like it very much, so I usually just stay off it.

BUT!

I'm trying to find a happy medium.

I see some amazing things on Instagram, and get inspired.

I see community starting to build.

I see other small businesses and creatives doing incredible things, and I get so stoked about them doing it!

And people come in and tell me they find us through Instagram or TikTok. So it definitely helps our business, and I know it helps other small bizs.

We started DIY BAR as a place for people to gather and get crafty. It's a place where you can put your phone down for a couple of hours, and connect with the ones you're with. Use your hands, get tactile, and have some fun!

I'm going to attempt to keep the digital realm up to date with what we've got going on, but I hope to see you in real life soon. 🤖 😊

PS - Anyone have tips on how they balance things out? 🤔

We've got some new colors for macrame cord!

You can now choose from 7 gorgeous colors to make your creation totally your own!

🍄 A magical woodland landscape on one of our newest projects.

Did you see we launched 5 new cement projects?!

This is our oil diffuser. You get to mix and pour the cement, then paint away!

Also, as a heads up we'll be operating at a limited capacity from 4/19 - 5/2! So if you're thinking about booking during those times, I'd recommend reserving in advance because space and times will be very limited.

🎉 Private Parties: Want the space to yourself? We’ve got you covered! Monday – Wednesday are available for private events—just gather 8 or more friends (minimum spend: $400) and let’s make something awesome together.
