Hi everyone, I want to share this GoFundMe that was created for the family of Joan Sebastian Guerrero, who tragically lost his life yesterday.
His family is trying to raise funds to help cover the costs of bringing his body back to Colombia, so they can give him a proper farewell and say their final goodbyes surrounded by his loved ones.
As members of the Latino community, and especially as part of the Latin dance community, we are not only here to celebrate our culture, music, and the beautiful moments we create together. We also have a responsibility to support each other when our community is hurting.
I especially want to call on our community leaders, event organizers, DJs, and dance instructors. We have the privilege of bringing people together through our culture, and moments like this are an opportunity to give back, show leadership, and remind everyone that our community is built on more than just dancing it is built on unity, compassion, and support for one another.
I encourage everyone who is able to contribute, share, or help spread the word to do so. Every action counts, and together we can make a difference for his family during this incredibly difficult time.
