Fall looks good at Vernick W**e!

On Saturday, October 31, we're getting together around the table for a special Fall Harvest Dinner to commemorate the changing season with good food, w**e & company

On the menu so far: pumpkin soup w/ crème fraîche & sage, an autumn salad w/ pear, endive & mimolette, sea scallops w/ butternut squash & warm ’nduja vinaigrette & smoked duck breast w/ root vegetables, cherries & Madeira jus

Four courses, a communal table & optional w**e or spirit-free pairings to round out the evening

Saturday's pour: Anna Espelt, Pla de Gates Blanc 2024 🇪🇸
Join us at the shop from 12–2pm for a taste. Complimentary, as always.

Anna Espelt takes minimal intervention w**emaking to the next level. She cares for 25 hectares of vineyards located in the Cap de Creus Nature Reserve of Spain. Using her experience from studying habitat restoration, Espelt’s care for the viticulture has allowed her to restore the land simultaneously.

She once described the site as: granite, wind, blue skies, and the smell of wild herbs and sea spray. This white blend of Lledoner Blanc & Roig (Grenache Blanc & Gris) encapsulates the terroir and everything we love about thoughtful w**emaking.

We're in the Philadelphia Inquirer!
Since opening next door to Food & Drink in 2019, our shop has given the Vernick team a little more room to explore - with 100+ bottles on the shelves, largely separate from the restaurant list & plenty of small producers & harder-to-find w**es to discover.

From Margaret River 🇦🇺 to 2029 Walnut!
Saturday we’re opening Cullen W**es, 2024 ‘Red Moon’ Margaret River

While Margaret River is more well known for big, bold Cabernet Sauvignon, Cullen W**es has been focused on biodynamic farming to produce lighter, fresher expressions of otherwise heavy-hitting grapes

This blend of Malbec, Grenache & Mourvèdre is full of dark berries & spices, but with a vibrant acidity that makes this the perfect red as we transition into fall

Come by from 12- 2pm, see what’s new on the shelves & find a bottle or two for the weekend. Complimentary, as always

For Saturday's shop tasting, coming straight from the foot of the Italian Alps, we have a beautiful Pinot Bianco made by Erste+Neue
(Fun fact: this part of Italy actually has more German speakers than Italian speakers!)

This w**e has electric acidity with plenty of minerality, citrus notes & a touch of creaminess on the finish from three months of lees aging. Perfect for seafood dishes, vegetable risotto & Mediterranean food
