Fight Night Recap 🥊🔥
First and foremost, thank you to my wife, my matchmaker and business partner, my staff/security, and all of my family/friends that constantly go out of their way to help make these events possible. None of this happens without the people behind the scenes sacrificing their time and energy. Huge thank you to Leann Edgar, the true backbone of this team. We appreciate everything you do ❤️
This card meant a lot to me because every fighter on it has been part of the journey in some way over the years, and seeing it all come together Saturday night was special.
Wilver Hernandez’s return was one of the biggest moments of the night ⭐️ After two years away from the ring, seeing him back under the lights meant a lot. Wilver is a huge reason KC Boxing Promotions even started, so having him finally fight on one of our cards was full circle. He made it count with an impressive 6th-round TKO 💥
Marcell Davidson has been part of this journey for years. From helping corner him early in his pro career to now helping promote him later in his career, it’s been amazing watching his growth. He delivered in devastating fashion with a 2nd-round knockout 🥊💣
Kevin Soltero continues to level up every single fight 📈 For the last two years, I’ve had the opportunity to work with him and watch his confidence, discipline, and skills continue to grow. Kevin never backs down from tough competition, and Saturday night was another big statement with an outstanding unanimous decision victory against a very tough opponent 💨believe when I say he's got next 👊🏼
Meli Perez once again brought the action 🔥 She always comes ready for war and always gets the crowd on their feet. Fighters like Meli are a huge reason these events continue to grow.
Marco Romero continues to prove why so many believe he’s Kansas City’s future champion ⭐ I had the opportunity to work his very first amateur fight, so seeing his growth over the years has meant a lot. Great fighter, great family, great kid. Another huge performance with a 1st-round stoppage 💪🏽
Then came the Mainevent ‼️Lalo Robles vs. Misael Reyes‼️
About 15 years ago, Misael Reyes and I walked into Turner Boxing Club for the first time, and one of the first people we saw was Lalo Robles, who at the time was the face of Kansas City boxing. So being able to bring those two together in a main event was special in a lot of ways.
And they absolutely delivered ⚡ The crowd was electric all night long, and the atmosphere felt like another level for Kansas City boxing.
Now it looks like Round 2 is officially on the way… 👀🥊
