We know it’s been a little quiet here the past couple of weeks - For those of you who have been following along with his story these past couple of years, the Hougland family lost their wonderful Papa Blaine on Monday after a very hard fought battle with cancer.

I so appreciate everyone who has followed along, asked about his journey and given grace on delayed responses. We will be hosting service for him on Friday and it will contonue to be quiet on here for a little while longer as we grieve and prepare for the service.

✨BEWARE -This Pinterest “wedding hack” is actually not helpful✨

This shot was a specific shot request from the groom. It meant a lot to him to have his family there and this shot was very meaningful to him. It was a sweet moment!

Pinterest will tell you to put together a shot list to give to your photographer - I say absolutely not! You hired your photographer for a reason, so trust them! Every PROFESSIONAL photographer will be sure to snap the traditional photos - first dances, bouquet toss, details, etc. If you give them a detailed list it takes them out of the moment so you don’t get as many candid shots and honestly you rob them of their creative license, which is something that drew you to them.

✨Two Exceptions✨
* Family Shots - I will work with you and your photographer to put together a very detailed shot list for ALL of your family shots because preparation is the name of the game there. I know how important family photos are and I want you to get every grouping possible but I also don’t want them to take 45 minutes when that is precious time you could be spending with your new SPOUSE and your gang celebrating!
* If there are like 3-5 specific NON-TRADITIONAL shots you want, let me and your photographer know! For example - like the photo above, a shot with your college soccer teammates, a shot of your grandma fixing your hair like she used to when you were little - those are things we want to know so we can make sure it happens!

I will never be over these dresses! Everything about them was just amazing - the colors, the fabric, the styles. It just elevated the wedding even more! When Jesse told me this is what she wanted for her bridesmaids I was elated. When I say be true to you, I mean be true to you! To finish out the wedding design we kept the florals and decor very neutral and it still packed a punch!

If you’ve been following me for awhile then you know I LOVE detail shots! I mean I feel like it’s kind of part of the wedding planner job description to love details. After all that’s what I think about so you don’t have to! Details like :
✨A complete room layout - where are those gift/card, memorial table, guest book table gonna go? How to maximize your tables to give you a bigger dance floor? I gotchu!
✨All your signage - welcome sign, bar sign, es**rt cards, table numbers, etc. I’ve got a full list of complete signage I provide you!
✨Who provides linens, cups, napkins, and cake plates? Who is going to cut and serve your cake? Don’t worry about it! I read your contracts thoroughly and let you know what items you need to provide that your venue, caterer, and bar service don’t provide or it isn’t included in your package with them.
✨Your actual details! I’ll let you know what I need to collect from you at rehearsal so your photographer can photograph all your gorgeous details like above! And I even style everything you give me in your bridal suite so when you walk-in it’s a whole vibe!
✨What exactly needs to be done at the end of your reception so you get your full deposit back? Making sure everything is wiped down and all remaining personal items are collected after you’ve left the evening? We’ve got you covered!

Ummm hello bridal party of my ✨dreams✨
I absolutely love that Jaimie wanted to incorporate so much color and texture into her wedding day. Everything turned out so beautifully!
I highly recommend being true to YOU when planning your details. I’ve got your back - I’ll tell you if I think something won’t match or flow and I’ll even help you figure out a way to tone it down or turn it up to make it work!

I don’t know how she did it, but captured the essence of Kat’s bouquet perfectly 🖤I mean do you see all the ✨details✨ absolutely nailed this design and it just completely complimented her vision of the day.

Getting to design this wedding was amazing! They wanted warm and rustic with lots of amber and candles. We started with a consultation. Then went through a couple mood board designs until we got it perfect. Then I researched vendors and rented the items agreed upon. Then I picked-up and set up the items and this vision was brought to life! Working with the best vendors, I think we definitely pulled it together!

These 2 ✨o.m.g. ✨High school sweethearts with the sweetest love story. There were so many happy tears on their wedding day, not only from the bride and groom but their friends and even vendors as well! Sharing more on my story because these two are just so cute!
