A young girl working in the music industry and a white collar criminal lawyer meet on their first date in New York in 2015.

And years later, here they are, planning your dream vacation.

If you're new here, welcome. It felt like the perfect time to properly introduce ourselves.

I’m Nicole.

Founder of Bono Events International, luxury travel designer, destination wedding planner, and someone who firmly believes a hotel is never just somewhere to sleep.

The handsome man beside me is Tano.

He's a lawyer by profession, the food expert behind TANO - The Cheese Maestro!, a certified cheese sommelier, and the person I trust most when it comes to food, wine, culture, and uncovering the places most travellers would never find on their own.

We're both Italian-American, fiercely passionate about Italy, and completely obsessed with helping people create unforgettable experiences.

We're also complete opposites.

I'm the hopeless romantic.

The one dreaming up beautiful celebrations, obsessing over hotels, and making sure every detail feels just right.

Tano is the practical one.

The researcher, the storyteller, the person who can spend an hour explaining the history behind a tiny village or why a particular family-run restaurant is worth crossing a region for.

Together, we bring very different perspectives to the table.

The beautiful suite and the hidden trattoria.

The luxury and the authenticity.

The romance and the reality.

And somewhere in the middle is where the magic happens.

Whether we're planning a destination wedding in Italy, designing a once-in-a-lifetime family vacation, or helping clients celebrate a milestone moment, our goal is always the same:

To create experiences that feel deeply personal, effortless, and impossible to forget.

These days, we're doing it all with our son Bruno along for the adventure, too.

Life looks a little different than it did when we first met in that New York bar, but one thing hasn't changed:

We still believe the best memories are made around a table, in a beautiful place, with the people you love most.

And helping others create those moments is still our favourite thing to do.

One thing about me? I will never agree that a hotel is "just somewhere to sleep."

The hotel is part of the whole experience.

It's the atmosphere, the service, the view, the breakfast, and the feeling you get when you walk through the door after a day of exploring.

A great hotel can completely change how you experience a destination.

Swipe to see some of the incredible properties we booked for our clients last month.

One of my hard rules?

If I'm planning your destination wedding, you're coming to visit before the wedding day.

Not because I want to add another trip to your calendar, but because some things simply can't be decided from a Pinterest board, a floor plan, or a Zoom call.

You need to walk through the venue.

You need to see how the light falls in the late afternoon.

You need to stand in the ceremony space.

You need to taste the food, meet the people, and feel the atmosphere for yourself.

Almost every couple changes something after their site visit. Sometimes it's small details. Sometimes it's a major decision they were convinced they had already made.

I've done weddings with and without a planning trip, and I can tell you from experience, the weddings are always better when couples come and experience it in person.

There are certain things I'm flexible on.

This isn't one of them. 🤍

One of the things I love most about planning trips like this is that they’re rarely about the destination alone.

This father and son travelled through Australia together at a moment in life when time felt especially important to protect. So we designed the itinerary around experiences they could genuinely share. Not rush through.

Harbour views in Sydney. Wildlife in the rainforest. Time with Indigenous guides on Country. A private charter out on the reef.

The kind of trip that becomes part of your family story long after you come home.

These are always some of my favourites to plan.

Especially if you’re standing in a piazza.
Especially if it’s pistachio.
Especially if you’re on your second one of the day.

Real gelato in Italy is completely different from what most people expect.

It’s softer. Less sweet. Made fresh daily. And usually served somewhere you didn’t plan to stop but absolutely should have.

But not all gelato is created equal.

Some places are genuinely incredible. Freshly made each morning, rich in flavour, seasonal, and worth going out of your way for. Others, especially in the more touristy areas, can look much better than they actually taste.

Still good? Sure.
Life changing? Not quite.

One of the things Tano included in his Roman food guide is where to find truly good gelato in Rome, alongside the restaurants and classic dishes we recommend to our own clients before they travel.

Some trips are worth planning properly ✨

The reality is, the best hotels, guides, villas, and experiences in certain destinations are often booked long before people expect.

If the trip really matters - a honeymoon, milestone birthday, safari, family celebration, or once-in-a-lifetime journey - timing is SO important.

These are the destinations I always recommend booking around 12 months in advance 🤍✈️

So much of what we’re drawn to in life looks beautiful from the outside.

A place. A moment. A table set for dinner. A view across the water. A hotel you’ve saved for years.

But what stays with us isn’t the appearance of those things.

It’s how they made us feel when we were there.

Travel is especially like this.

The trips people talk about for the rest of their lives are rarely the busiest or the most photographed.

They’re the ones where something shifted.

Where they slowed down.

Where they felt completely present.

Where they didn’t want the evening to end.

Where they somehow felt lighter.

When I design journeys for my clients, that’s always what I’m thinking about.

Not just where you’re going, but how it’s going to feel once you arrive 🤍✈️

There’s something very special about helping someone plan a trip that marks a moment in their life.

The ones that celebrate something. The ones that bring people together. The ones that happen at exactly the right time, even if that timing wasn’t obvious at first.

Over the years I’ve learned that these are the journeys people carry with them long after they come home. They become part of family stories. Part of relationships. Part of how we remember chapters of our lives.

Being trusted with that is something I never take lightly…and it’s truly why I love this work.

The ones people remember forever.

If you’re starting to think about your next trip, I’d love to help you plan something that transcends the ordinary ✈️🤍
