Our day just got EXPONENTIALLY better!! Sarah and I just picked up our KING'S CAKE from Flavors of Louisiana! This is that once a year, for a very short time, right before Mardi Gras King's Cake (which is more like a giant delicious pastry) filled with decadent cream cheese. The window to get this culinary masterpiece is short because Ash Wednesday is very early this year. They won't be making anymore after February 17! Trust me. You won't be disappointed and you'll thank me later.

I think I'm officially disqualified for "Mother of the Year" based on these photos of my Sarah. If she's not just on a ladder, she's on a ladder on the phone. She has to do every grunt job that likely involves a ladder. Lifting those incredible heavy and awkward boxes up to our storage area, yup, Sarah's job. Standing out in the pouring rain helping Guests bring in food or decorations? Or help with our Dunk Tank or fluff up our Brown Bear we have for sale?? That would be Sarah. My job, you might be wondering? When we figure that out, I'll let you know.

This past year, was a bit of a roller-coaster ride at times but through it all, I can see God's Hand in it. He has always been faithful to us.
💎 Looking back at 2025, we at The Gathering Barn, had the privilege of Hosting weddings, Birthday parties and even a surprise Birthday party! Family Reunions and Class Reunions! We had a couple of Celebration of Life services (funerals) and those were a challenge but I believe we made things easier on the families. We had our first PROPOSAL! I actually was the one who came up with the idea to use our Marquee letters to spell out ABBIE WILL YOU MARRY ME?
💎 The Proms we had were perfect. We hosted several company events, including hosting the largest Elk Foundation in the United States for their yearly meeting.
💎 The moments that stand out to me were the ones where we made a difference for our Guests. We had a Guest who was paraplegic, who thanked us for the building being Handicap-Accessible including the bathrooms. He remarked that this was the first event in a long time he was able to attend. That made me cry. The Gathering Barn is more than just a building. It's become a ministry for us.

Any chance you got engaged over the Christmas holiday?? Ironically enough, my late Husband proposed to me on Christmas morning after the church service was over. I was shocked and my ring was gorgeous. Wonderful memories.

TODAY IS MY BIRTHDAY! No, not the date I was birthed but a way more important date! On December 27th, 1991, my late Husband Nick and I accepted Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior. I stole that rock from the Christian Retreat Center in Moodus, Connecticut, where it happened (obviously I still had a bit of heathen in me.) The picture with the rock, is the EXACT coordinates of the place where our lives changed forever. I'm reminded every day that we will be reunited someday.
My precious Daughter Sarah shocked me with a cake she baked, my most favorite cake, white cake, white icing.
God is so faithful!

‭Today let's take time to remember Jesus, not just as the Babe in the manger, but as God manifested in the flesh as a Man in His 30s Who came to heal ALL, comfort ALL, provide for ALL. Most importantly, that He died on the Cross for ALL so we may spend eternity with Him. Let's REJOICE in knowing He did that for us because He's a Loving God and He IS faithful!

A CHRISTMAS MIRACLE COMES FULL CIRCLE...

Four years ago, I was not financially able to purchase Silver Dollar City tickets for me and my Twin Daughters. I live close enough that I hear the Stream Train whistle throughout the day. Every time I heard it, I got upset I wasn't able to take my Girls. I decided instead to THANK GOD AND PRAISE HIM because I had faith He would provide me Silver Dollar City tickets. Every single time I heard that whistle I thanked God for my tickets and that I was going to take my Girls to Silver Dollar City.

With literally just a few days left in the season, I'm still standing in faith my tickets were coming in, thanking God every time I heard that train whistle. THEN on the last day of school at Christmas break, someone came up to my Daughter Sarah and GAVE HER THREE TICKETS TO SILVER DOLLAR CITY! He didn't know I was praying for them, but he was led to give them to her!! My Christmas Miracle comes to pass! Well, fast forward four years, and I discover, purely by accident, that the fellow that God used, worked with me at SDC! He had no idea the part he played in my Christmas Miracle. His name is Philip.

You know, when Sarah and I began this adventure, also known as The Gathering Barn, we truly had no idea how much fun, hard work but especially how rewarding it would be. So many of our Guests are interested in the many testimonies and miracles that we've experienced here. We've really enjoyed the non-wedding parties, such as Birthday parties, Quinceañeras, Company events, Reunions of all kinds. Even the Home Going/Celebration of Life services we've hosted has given us an opportunity to relieve some of the stress because of how we've been able to make their day easier.

Four events in nine days! And another two this upcoming weekend. Glory to God! The Gathering Barn, our 4,000sqft Event Venue, is fast becoming recognized as a wonderful place for your family celebrations! Ain't gonna lie, it was a walk of faith that we could pull off this many events so close together. My amazing Daughter Sarah really made it look easy. Going from a huge company Christmas Party to an equally huge wedding was a challenge! So exciting though! It's not lost on us how precious it is that two people promised each other, before God and their families, to love and cherish each other, till death do they part. What a privilege it is for us to be part of that.
