✅I got to photograph a Paralympian!! How cool is that??

I am a HUGE fan of the Olympics and Paralympics! Back in the day before streaming was an option, I would wake up all hours of the night and day to catch my favorite sports. 👵🏻

There is just something so incredible about watching someone who has worked so so hard for something having their dreams become reality. Even if I know nothing about the sport 😂

So, if we still had to wake up at all hours to catch our favorite sport on TV, which one would you be setting an alarm for?

Wondering what time to start photography on your wedding day? I recommend around 1 hour before you plan to get dressed!

Having a photographer around for this part of the day adds so many great image opportunities like capturing the details you worked so hard to curate, great moments with your wedding party, and beautiful images of you getting wedding-ready!

Oh yes… and of course leave time to dig up that bourbon! (Last image)

I typically have a weird love/hate feeling toward hydrangeas but I’ll tell ya what… this wedding made me a fan that day for sure!!

For that first photo, we were basically standing in a driveway and there was a parking lot behind the plants… but when the light is right 🤌🏻🤌🏻🤌🏻

I love when my couples trust me to find the right light and make some magic on a wedding day!

The problem with this wedding is it spoiled me. 💁🏻‍♀️ the most laidback people, on-the-ball wedding planner, beautiful venues, and great weather. It just all came together so seamlessly and no is deserves that more than these two!

We get to work for great people and I honestly feel overdue for a horror story 😅 Our clients are kind to us and truly stay focused on enjoying their wedding day. Let’s keep that trend going in 2025 🎉

What can I say that the photos don’t… this wedding was just STUNNING!!! Have you ever seen a more amazing use of florals?!

They had such unique and creative ideas for their attire and reception space. They brought the to life with incredible floral installations, candles, and light projections. OH, and of course a kickass live drag show!!! It all came together to make a magical evening wedding!

A lot of focus goes into your ceremony and reception location but there is one more thing to think about… where is everyone getting ready?

It’s a significant portion of the day and it’s a really fun part of just you and your closest friends! And of course… we want great photos of it!

When picking out a getting ready location you want room to spread out, great lighting (look for large windows if possible), and decor you’ll enjoy having in the background of images. Shameless plug: if you are getting married anywhere near downtown Lexington, consider !!

It’s conveniently located near multiple great venues, doesn’t have pesky check in and checkout times like a hotel, and it was my original photography studio so it has GREAT light!

Anyone else feel like this is the face they make when a camera comes out?! 😂😂

I promise this kitty was actually very chill and enjoyed her time on the golf with with her parents for photos. After we wrapped up pet photos, took the pets back to the house while we kept taking photos! I love when they are a part of sessions because I know someone is there to specifically make sure all pets are happy and safe!

Should you wear a veil?

My answer is almost always, “YES!!!!”

1) when else do you get to wear one? Why not go for it!

2) they are a beautiful element to play with in photos

3) you don’t have to wear it all day! I often recommend only wearing it for portraits and your ceremony.

Usually there is one person in each couple extra nervous about photos. Then they figure out it’s basically just cuddling and kissing and then all of a sudden it doesn’t seem so bad 😍

We will never tell you to just, “go look cute.” We tell you where to look, where to put your hands, all the things! We want your photos to LOOK natural but we surely don’t expect you to BE a natural.

Feel like a weirdo with three hands and legs that don’t work during photos? You’re my people. I promise I’ve got you!

Happy first anniversary! Olivia & Christopher had the most perfect backyard wedding. They got married behind the home you recently purchased, their family made a delicious dinner, and the entire day was filled with so much beauty. They are one of the most easy-going couples we have ever worked for and it made for SUCH a great day!!

Happy two-year anniversary to Dominique & Steven!!

At 3:15 in this video, there is a moment the screen goes dark and you hear Dominique's voice. This was recorded while she was alone behind closed doors before they opened and she got to walk down the aisle to become Steven's wife. That moment gets me every single time. It was so beautiful and pure and may have been forgotten if not for their sweet wedding video!

While we have been in the photo game for a long time, this was towards the beginning of our journey adding videography! We are SO happy they trusted us with their day. There are so many quick, perfect, silly, and beautiful moments captured in this video and I remember crying the first time Nick let me watch it because it was so sweet and I love this bride so much!

Now they are growing their family and celebrating another year of marriage!!

Wedding idea 🦄Has anyone ever been to an event where they “lock” your phone?? We went to an event last night and they put our phones, headphones, and watches in little baggies that locked and they couldn’t be unlocked until after the show. At first I was shocked because there was no warning before this happened and by the time I understood what was going on, it was already locked up. But then…

Then I was in a giant room of people and NOBODY could look at their phones. 🫨 it was kind of amazing and I got to thinking that it should totally become a new trend for weddings!

Imagine how fun weddings would be if everyone just partied, talked to each other, and of course… sought out the photographer for more images 🥰

If you know me, you know I hate to admit it. But, Nick won this one! This first photo was taken by him and the second one was taken by me. I am great at directing poses and helping people feel comfortable in front of a camera. He is so so great and seeing what so many others would miss. I love this about working together! Sometimes he will run over to me mid-session to show me when he makes some extra magic on camera. Other times we wait until we get in the car and excitedly scroll through together.

Working with your spouse is not 100% rainbows and sunshine but DANG is it fun!
