Ichthus Festival

In decades past, Asbury University had a close relationship with the Ichthus music festival. In recent years, we have become aware that a third party unaffiliated with Asbury University has come to obtain the trademark use of the Ichthus name. Though we are not involved in the hosting of the festival this fall, we wish them the best and that God is honored through the festival.

Asbury University has been a supporter and partner with the ICHTHUS festivals for many years. When Creation Festivals determined earlier this year that they would not continue the ICHTHUS festival, Asbury was privileged to enter into an agreement to obtain the rights to the ICHTHUS name and legacy. Over the next couple years they will be praying and discussing how to shepherd this important history and mission and want to thank all those who in the past have been involved in this great ICHTHUS legacy. Asbury commits to carefully determine how the ICHTHUS mission and the mission of Asbury University may intersect in some way in the future. Creation Festivals will not be holding the 2016 Ichthus Festival.

We underestimated the time and financial resources necessary to restart this great ministry. So, after much prayerful consideration, Creation Festivals has made the difficult decision that stepping away from Ichthus Festival will be in the best interest for the event and its future. We are currently speaking with an organization that will consider the future of this great ministry. Please keep the festival, its volunteer leadership and staff, and its future in your prayers for God’s will to be done.
