Celebrated vocalists and musicians from the University of Kentucky School of Music, University of Kentucky Choirs and the Lexington Singers Children's Choir perform holiday favorites from close to home and around the globe, conducted by UK Director of Choirs, Dr. Ryan Beeken.

His groundbreaking music has transformed the way we experience rhythm, repetition, and harmony—profoundly influencing generations of artists around the world.

Come celebrate with us on November 6 for SCFA Expansive Sounds Series #10: Bang on a Can All-Stars - 90/90, a special program honoring Steve Reich and Philip Glass, both celebrating their 90th birthdays this year.

The All-Stars will perform Reich’s NY Counterpoint and 2×5, alongside Glass’s Glassworks—bringing together the music of two visionary composers whose work has forever changed the sound of contemporary music.

Prior to our Opening Night Concert, we will host a Pre-Concert Lecture in the Singletary President's Room at 7:00pm. Our guest speaker will be Emily Smeenge, a graduate student in the combined M.A./Ph.D. in Musicology and Ethnomusicology program at the University of Kentucky. She has previously earned a B.A. in Piano Performance (Judson University, 2020) and a M.M. in Music Composition (NIU, 2024). Her current research interests include Renaissance music theory, Arnold Schoenberg, and historical music pedagogy.
