Bluegrass Barons

09/27/2026

It was a beautiful afternoon for vintage base ball on Saturday as we visited Bowling Green, Kentucky, to play the Bee Gee Heebie Jeebies at The Old Get Together Festival. For being their first games, the Heebie Jeebies were really good as they struck well and made some really impressive catches in the outfield.

After the Barons won the first game, the second game was super-tight and low scoring. The Barons rallied in the bottom of the seventh to take both ends of the doubleheader.

Thank you to The Old Get Together for having us back, thank you to the Heebie Jeebies for two spirited matches, and thank you to everybody who came out or made the trip from Lexington to support us!

Win, Lose, and Draw.

The Bluegrass Barons had one of each at the French Lick Vintage Base Ball Festival in West Baden, Indiana, on Sunday. We jumped out to an early lead in our first game to score a win against the Indianapolis Blues Vintage Base Ball Club, and then battled the Mariah Hill Yanks to a hard-fought tie in our second game. We finished the afternoon by falling to the Cincinnati Buckeyes in the third game.

No matter the outcome, it was a great afternoon of seeing old friends and making new ones at a new festival. We had a great time in West Baden and look forward to playing there again!
