Off to a good start on the privacy fence in the Long Range Bay!
Got almost 100 yards up already and will install more as the cash flow allows.
Get ready for some interesting, more focused, accoustics when you're shooting there.
The Long Range Bay now has a bit of a metallic reverb and it sounds kinda trippy.
Also, if anyone is interested in volunteering to paint the fence or in hanging advertisements off of it, please let me know.
As many members know, all the construction in the tree farm next door has created some safety concerns on both sides, both real and perceived.
We've already significantly raised the berms facing my neighbor but there remained nothing but a barbed wire fence on the property line back in the Long Range Bay.
Since the other party appears unwilling to do more to enhance safety other than complain, we at the IZGC are doing what we can as fast as we can afford to.
First the privacy fence will go up, then a supplementary berm of tires filled with dirt covered by more dirt will follow.
We appreciate all your patience as the work continues to enhance y'all's shooting experience and to make this place as safe as possible.

An extra upgrade for your IZGC experience.
Had the target stands that hold 2x4s fixed and fitted with tensioning screws for the 2x4s.
Then redistributed them amongst the bays.
(Eventual goal is at least 1 per bay.)
So those of you who own a steel target that mounts on a 2x4 can bring the steel and wood and have a stand that likely won't need to be staked in the ground.
It's kind of a niche perk. But they came with the range so might as well allow y'all the benefit of using them if you know how.

Friday, July 18, a class in Bay 5 from 7-11am

Had a great Multi-Gun Match today with the West Houston Shooting Club.
For the first major match hosted at the IZGC since it reopened, I'd say it went splendidly.
Excellent turnout too!

Happy Independence Day everyone!
The Impactzone Gun Club is thrilled to help any and all members and their guests in celebrating our country's independence and birth as a sovereign, free nation.
I imagine a number of you will be swinging by to make some noise to ring in the day.
You are welcome to do so, and may include common, consumer level fireworks that are legal to purchase at a retail fireworks stand in your celebrations.
But please limit it to that.
No Tannerite.
No incendiary rounds.
No commercial or military grade fireworks or pyrotechnics.
Wishing you a fun and safe 4th of July!

Phil Oxley's (The Impactzone's founder) beloved dog Brynne has passed away.
Very saddened to hear this, but it's tempered by knowing she was well cared for in the last year+ of her life and now her and Phil's spirits are reunited in Heaven.
From the Remembering Phil Oxley FB Group, Ric Golemon posted: "I'm sad to report that Brynne has passed on to go be with Philip Oxley . She had a seizure tonight and is unable to walk, and crying horribly. She was a great dog, especially to Phil, but to us as well after Phil died. I pray and believe that Phil will be waiting on her, and they can continue their journey together, forever. Rest In Peace, you were such a great companion."
