We’ve reached an important milestone: The City of Easthampton has granted our certificate of occupancy for our bar and venue! We are incredibly grateful to the many members, friends, and city officials who helped us over the last few months to navigate this process. Without your time, expertise, and investment in THCC, we would not have been able to bring our beautiful historic place into compliance with modern code requirements.
There are a few remaining things we need to get squared away before we can announce an opening date, but this was by far the largest remaining hurdle for us to cross. As we tend to those items, there are a few things that you can do to help THCC to open and thrive. Bringing our space up to code was expensive, and while we have enough funds to open, we would like to raise a little extra money so that we have more of a cushion in our first months of operation. Here are three ways that you can help:
Join THCC: Joining is a one-time expense which makes you a shareholder in the cooperative. Not only will you have a say on important business matters, but you’ll also be entitled to a share of any future profits we may make, and will have access to other member-only perks. If you are already a member, encourage your friends to join!
Contribute to the Hardship Fund: If you’re already a member or if you aren’t ready to join yet but want to help, your contribution will help pay for memberships for those in our community who aren’t able to afford it. So far we’ve granted 14 free memberships.
Member Loan Program: For members who’d like to make a larger contribution, consider our Member Loan Program. THCC is offering a range of variable interest rates and term lengths. This has been instrumental in allowing us to raise the money we needed to complete these renovations without taking on a ton of external debt.
