At our next Sip Salon, we're taking on a question that gets much more complicated the longer you sit with it:

Can we do better than prison?

One of the articles we'll discuss argues that incarceration's impact on crime is far more complicated than simply “more prison = less crime.” Another explores alternatives like restorative justice and community-based accountability. And a third asks an entirely different question: what if prison itself isn't the only issue—what if the way we do prison matters?

No lecture. No experts required. No expectation that everyone agrees.
