I love being in the business of witnessing peoples love stories. The fun thing about weddings - is there are so many love stories - from the actual Bride & Groom, to parents / offspring, old + new friendships, siblings, grandparents - there is so much love. And weddings are one of the few times in life we dedicate to gather + celebrate this love and admiration for each other.

From the actual marriage that takes place on a wedding day, to seeing best friends from various stages of life gather + giggle the morning away while getting ready with the bride, to seeing a Mother of the Bride place her own wedding day veil on her daughters head, to the quiet but nerve filed moment it’s just a father and his daughter about to walk down the aisle, to hearing the youngest brother toast his older brother and new sister-in-law at the reception, to gathering up the great grandmother to take a photo with the newlyweds. So many love stories all wrapped up into a wedding day.

A Charleston wedding was the perfect fit for these two. The groom, a Citadel graduate had hopes of being married in the historic Summerall Chapel on campus. Both Macy + Andrew wanted an intimate reception with their nearest and dearest family members and friends.

Here we are, at the end of January, 2025 and I’m proud to say I have entered my 18th year of being a Wedding Planner 🎉 As I type this, I am realizing I must plan a 20th Anniversary Party! 🥂

I’m forever grateful for a career that allows me to guide others with making decisions, the chance to design events that feel like a natural extension of my clients personal style, the opportunity to do the heavy lifting during year long {or more!} planning process so that clients can focus on their own careers and also the festivities related to celebrating the upcoming marriage and once the day arrives- to actually enjoy their time with dear friends and family.

2025 weddings will take me to my hometown of Columbia, SC | Greenville, SC | Atlanta, GA | Highlands, NC | Porto Ercole, Italy.

Didn’t get around to a Christmas card again this year, so in modern day IG approach - I am wishing you a belated Merry Christmas and here is to a happy New Year!

2024 was full of simple joys and rhythms. Between the ordinary as well as wonderful days- there was always an upcoming adventure to look forward to, simple pleasures, lots of celebrations and overall gratitude for good health, my faith, our country, and the absolute joy of marriage + motherhood.

A favorite task of designing a clients wedding is tapping into what visually makes their heart and eyes happy. 😍

Are they a minimalist or maximalist?

Drawn to symmetry or asymmetry?

What color story feels like them?

What font styles speak them?

Are they drawn to gold or silver?

Prefer patterns, solids, or textured soft foods?
and on and on….

The differences via the preferences are what make each event unique, and in the end be a personal reflection of the couples own aesthetic.

Three fun facts about boutonniere’s…

The word “boutonniere” comes from the French word boutonnière, which means “buttonhole flower”

Every time I spell boutonniere on a timeline, I second guess my self. Often times I say “forget it!!” and just write ‘bout.

The most overused wedding day joke is for a grandpa or groomsmen to pretend I stuck them when I am pinning said ‘bout. In 20 years of pinning ‘bouts I’ve never stuck anyone, but have heard that joke a couple hundred times!😂
