Why We Share (Even When Others Don’t)

There’s been a shift in the industry—and not all of it’s been good.

Today, there are “planners” and quote-unquote designers who guard proposal locations like trade secrets. You inquire, and they won’t even tell you where they’re planning until you’ve signed and paid. That’s not luxury. That’s scarcity marketing dressed up in Pinterest pins.

Contrast that with the photographers I’ve worked with—many of whom go above and beyond. They’ll not only tell you the location, they’ll send you a link to the permit application, the best times to shoot there, and their favorite nearby coffee shop. That’s what real service looks like. That’s what this industry needs more of.

Because at the end of the day, if you’re truly serving, you’re not hiding. You’re helping.
