Harbor Country weddings run on a different clock than Chicago weddings, and most couples find that out too late to plan around it. ⏰

You are in Eastern time. Sunset lands an hour later on the clock than it does in the city, which moves your photo window, your dinner service and your sunset portraits. 🌅

Half your guest list is driving from Illinois, losing an hour at the state line on top of Friday traffic on 94. If your ceremony is at four, some of them are leaving work at noon.

Your caterer, your florist and your rentals are likely coming from three different towns, which means three different load-in windows and three different drive times to build into a timeline.📋

None of that is a problem. All of it is a plan.

“My venue has a coordinator, so I don’t need a planner.”

We hear this constantly, and it is worth understanding what you are actually being told.

A venue coordinator works for the venue.🔑 Their job is the building. Doors open on time, the bar is staffed, the room is clean, and the event ends when the contract says it ends. They are usually great at that job.

A wedding coordinator works for you. Our job is your day. Your vendors, your timeline, your family, your ceremony, your grandmother’s chair, your photographer’s shot list, and the forty small decisions nobody warned you about.

Neither role replaces the other. Most couples just find out which one they were missing on the day itself.

We have coordinated four weddings inside this building. 🍾

That is not a brag, it is a shortcut for you. It means we already know the American Factory’s load-in door, how long it actually takes to flip the room, which corner the band fits in without eating four tables, and what time the light stops working in the east room.

A venue this beautiful has a lot of moving parts. Brick and steel carry sound beautifully, so we plan the toasts and the first dance to use that. High ceilings want florals with real scale, so we build up instead of out. And a room this open means your guests see every transition, so we make the transitions part of the night instead of something to get through.

Here is what your guests notice when someone who knows the building runs the day. Dinner comes out hot. 🥂 Cocktail hour does not run twenty minutes long. Nobody stands in a line. The room turns over and it feels like it happened by itself.
