What happens when you put me in the kitchen with a famous Armenian pop singer… and a crazy Italian with a New York attitude who somehow found his way into the Hayastanci community? 😂🇦🇲🇮🇹
Apparently… BEEF KATLET & GOLDEN VERMICELLI RICE PILAF. 🍽️
I had way too much fun cooking with Ani — aka SHPROT — and Paisan Kapitan of Hye Jams Network & Between the Notes.
🇦🇲 Shprot brought the Armenian flavor.
🇮🇹🤌 Paisan brought… well… Paisan. 😂
👩🍳🐞 I tried to keep us on track in the kitchen.
Between the cooking, arguing, laughing, and trying to figure out what the hell Paisan was doing, we somehow made an AMAZING meal.
Three personalities. Three cultures. One kitchen.
The food? 🤌 Worth the chaos.

🍽️ BEEF KATLET
• 2 lbs ground beef
• 1 medium onion, grated
• 2–3 slices bread
• Salt & black pepper
• Neutral oil for frying
Soak bread in water until soft and squeeze out excess water. Combine with beef, onion, salt & pepper and mix well. Shape into slightly flattened patties. Fry in a thin layer of oil over medium heat until golden brown on both sides and cooked through.
🍚 GOLDEN VERMICELLI RICE PILAF
• 2 cups long-grain white rice
• ½ cup small vermicelli
• 2 tbsp butter
• 1 tbsp oil
• 5 cups water
• Salt to taste
Melt butter with oil over medium heat. Add vermicelli and sauté until deep golden brown. Add rinsed, drained rice and sauté briefly.
Add 5 cups water and salt. Bring to a boil, reduce heat to low, cover and cook until the water is absorbed. Rest covered for 10 minutes, then fluff and serve.
And there you have it — simple, comforting food that tastes like home. ❤️🇦🇲
