Beyond the Ink-
Rodney is the ultimate workplace chameleon. He joined the crew in 2021, running the single-head embroidery machine at our old shop on North Belt West. After moving into our current location, Rodney took on the Engraving department until we sold that equipment and he rejoined Embroidery for a time. From there, he transitioned to the Sign department where he managed the flatbed printer until this past October when he joined Sales and Design!

Rodney is incredibly adaptable and willing to tackle any new challenge. He’s great with customers, our resident CorelDRAW user, and the tallest member of the United Ink team at a towering 6’7”. Yes, really.

When he’s off the clock, you can find Rodney unwinding with some sushi and an episode of South Park, or jumping into a match of Call of Duty. He’s also a devoted dog dad to his rescue pup, Frankie. Honestly, he probably feeds her better than most people feed themselves!

United Ink will be closed to the public December 24-January 1. The last day to pick-up completed orders is Tuesday, December 23, 8:30am-4:30pm.

We will re-open for normal business hours on Friday, January 2. Happy Holidays, everyone! 🎄

Beyond the Ink-
Ashley began running our heat press in August of 2022. Since then, her responsibilities have shifted and her workspace has moved no less than five times – but as long as she has her many plants and a little natural lighting nearby, she’s content.

She is passionate about attention to detail, which is evident in both her work and her decorating skills. For a self-proclaimed Scrooge, she sure knows how to throw a party! Ashley is the brain behind all of our Online Stores, the face most frequently found on our socials, and the voice that’s not afraid to hold back. She will light a fire under anyone not following proper protocols, and you best watch out if she catches you slamming the microwave.

Outside of work, you can catch Ashley performing with one of her three bands – Ashan & Grotsky, White Collar Recession, and Covering Fire – or even more likely, she’ll be cuddling with her cats. Ashley, sometimes you may be snitchin’ & a–... but just remember, you should only be worried if we’re not giving you a hard time. 😉

Rich 𝘢𝘪𝘯’𝘵 𝘯𝘰 𝘣𝘶𝘵𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘧𝘭𝘺–he’s the 𝘚𝘪𝘨𝘯 𝘞𝘩𝘪𝘴𝘱𝘦𝘳𝘦𝘳. He’s 𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘭𝘭 𝘨𝘰𝘵 𝘢 𝘤𝘰𝘶𝘱𝘭𝘦 𝘰𝘧 𝘥𝘰𝘨𝘴 𝘪𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘳𝘢𝘤𝘦 so don’t fool with him–‘cause you’d definitely be 𝘧𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘰𝘶𝘵𝘴𝘪𝘥𝘦 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘸𝘦𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵 𝘤𝘭𝘢𝘴𝘴. 𝘎𝘦𝘵 𝘴𝘰𝘮𝘦 𝘴𝘬𝘪𝘯 𝘪𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘨𝘢𝘮𝘦–but if you 𝘬𝘪𝘤𝘬 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘩𝘰𝘳𝘯𝘦𝘵’𝘴 𝘯𝘦𝘴𝘵, 𝘺𝘰𝘶’𝘭𝘭 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘵𝘰 𝘥𝘦𝘢𝘭 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩 𝘪𝘵. If you’ve ever been lucky enough to work alongside Rich, you’ve inevitably heard all of these “Rich-isms”…and so many more.

Rich brought more than just his colloquialisms with him when we purchased LGI Signs in October of 2023. He introduced us to a much-needed project management software, new equipment and methods, and, of course, his hard-working group of installers who seamlessly joined our team. On top of all that, Rich brought thirty years of hard-earned experience to the table, helping us to work more efficiently and better serve our customers.

This past weekend we celebrated Rich and his bittersweet retirement from the sign industry. We hope he knows any future successes we achieve are, in part, a reflection of his guidance and ideas. We hope he feels a sense of accomplishment knowing he helped lead us to a stronger position to succeed. He (and all his infamous Rich-isms) will be sorely missed around the shop. Thankfully he’ll be our on-call tech savior, so we’ll be sure to have computer troubles for him on the regular. 😉
