The Ever Lea We provide beautiful, local blooms for floral designers. Retail sales of dahlia tubers, seeds and plugs. Hi! I'm Shanna and I am the owner of The Ever Lea.

And accept a limited number of weddings for engaged couples each season. Please inquire for more information about cut blooms for the public. A small, urban flower farm in the heart of the Fox Cities WI USA. My specialty is growing dahlias and other flowers that I supply to florists. You can also purchase my dahlia tubers to grow your own beautiful garden! I became fascinated with dahlias when I r

andomly purchased a pack of tubers from a Wal-Mart in 2017. I strive to grow my flowers in symbiosis with nature. We try avoiding any use of harsh chemicals as we promote the life cycle of the natural world as much as possible here on our farm. My background is in wedding floral design for over a decade, and I decided to start growing my own flowers for the events I was designing. The rest is history!

I could not help but to give these golden beauties a place on my feed. They are absolutely stunning! To me the epitome of summer winding down as we are mere weeks from the autumnal equinox. I don’t know how many more of these particular zinnias I will get as they are in an area that gets less sun this time of year. So I wanted to admire them while they are still in their glory.

August = the dahlias really start showing up! We planted at the end of May. I wanted to wait out the colder, rainy spring a little bit to avoid tuber loss. We still lost varieties though and some were tough losses. But it’s gotten easier to just walk away when that happens after several years of this gig. I’m looking forward to more and more blooms as we move into September. Typically I would be focusing on harvesting a lot of blooms but I might actually leave more of them on the plants this year. Main reason: to allow better tuber focus by letting the plant focus energy below the soil instead of producing more blooms. I think I will worry less about organza bags too once a plant is verified. Decisions, decisions!

It is here! Harvest season! The long awaited floral abundance we work so hard for! Harvesting takes me hours and I try to complain but honestly I just quit that nonsense. This time of the season is so fleeting and I just want to drink it up! September is usually my favorite month on the farm and I just know it will be so great this year!

Pictured above are dahlias, strawflowers, rudbeckia and zinnias! Keep an eye out for the farm stand too! We should be open each weekend from now until early October!

It is finally farm bouquet season!! We started opening the farm stand back up last weekend and it has been so wonderful to make beautiful bouquets for my community and see people grabbing them right up! Honestly I can’t believe I didn’t have the farm stand going in previous years but I’m loving having it now! Can’t wait for more dahlias to come along and add a little pizazz to our offerings! Happy summer everyone!

Hello! I was so excited when I got to bring out the garden cart last night and load it up with flowers for the first time this season not once, but twice! So this morning I will be putting some goodies to sell today at our roadside stand, which will be open from 3-6/7pm while supplies last! I will have some for everyone in terms of budget preferences! Look for the pink canopy at the end of our driveway! See you there!

I am still here! And you know that if you follow my stories, but I fell behind on getting anything up on the grid. To be honest, things have been slow. Plants are behind and some are not loving the cooler and wet spring we started out with. The perennials have been attacked by deer and now we are just waiting on summer annuls to show up. I suspect an abundant late summer and fall, which is perfect. This year is all about going with the flow. I imagine the feed will be filled with dahlia blooms soon enough!

Things are growing and going on the farm! We have had a more typical spring in northeast Wisconsin so blooms are taking their time and honestly, so am I.

I love our progress in learning flowering farming this year. We introduced new varieties and new planted areas to the farm.

Pictured here are my stock which are new to me. They are fragrant, wonderful and worthy!

I’m looking forward to watching everything take its place in our various patches this season. I don’t want this season to go by too fast.

Spring is springing! This is starting to wiggle its way into my favorite season. And that’s not easy coming from this dahlia obsessed girl! It’s that time of year when us growers, along with the birds and other wildlife are foraging for the initial bounties from nature. That window where we have to get creative with what we can manage to find. It almost makes it more rewarding 🥰💐
