One of the ways we manage pests on our farm is by focusing on plant health first.

We’re adding dried molasses to the soil to help feed beneficial microbes and support higher Brix levels in our plants. Brix is a measurement of sugars and dissolved nutrients in plant sap. When plants are well-nourished and producing more sugars through photosynthesis, they tend to be more resilient to stress and less attractive to many insect pests.

Healthy soil → healthy plants → fewer pest problems.

It’s not a magic bullet, but building soil biology is a big part of how we grow beautiful flowers while reducing the need for interventions.
