The weather gods were on their side. The two days preceding their wedding was torrential rain. Being the ultimate outdoorsy couple, their wedding was in nature or bust. The day of was dry, still and with the most beautiful soft cloud cover every photographer dreams of. Blue sky poked through and Lake Rotoiti was utter perfection.

Ben got ready at his parents house, a new build inspired by Doc huts, complete with Kea leadlight and incredible lounge library. His wedding ring belonged to his Nana who passed away only two years ago. Engraved into the surface are the mountains surrounding Lake Rotoiti.

Their ceremony at Rotoiti Lodge Outdoor Education Centre by Lisa Dudley included a surprise Tinder mention and history of their extensive cycling and camping adventures together in New Zealand and Europe.

We popped to the lake for some photos (would be rude not to). One of the groomsmen bought the happy couple a water taxi ride to the pontoon which provided much entertainment (no swimming though!). The campervans, locals and tuna joined in and Anna’s dream wedding was complete.

So many cracking speeches were interspersed with fabulous food by Viva La Vaca and an ICE CREAM BAR. No first dance, instead a first duet on sax and piano; followed by Toadstool rocking until the wee hours.

All impeccably organised by Tracey Hammond Perfect Wedding Planner, a very handy family friend to have.

Sarah was incredible. From our initial phone call inquiry to everything in between. Her communication is seamless and photography was just exceptional. Feeling so incredibly lucky to have had Sarah alongside us on our big day, it truly felt like another having a long time friend at our wedding. We recently hired Outback Bathrooms for my daughter and son-in-law’s wedding, and I just wanted to share how impressed we were.
The facilities were absolutely top-notch — clean, modern, and with a real sense of luxury that you don’t usually expect from event bathrooms. It made such a difference to the overall experience for our guests.

After hosting a successful wedding fair and meeting more of the lovely Marlborough and Nelson wedding suppliers, I am super excited to share my knowledge with newly engaged couples.

I have assisted with weddings as small as 50 guests up to 180 guests. From marquee weddings, weddings with Burmese and Fijian/Indian traditions, garden weddings at home and weddings in local venues. All weddings are special to the couple and I love making suggestions to suit your style and budget.

I provide a free 1 hour consultation either in person or via FaceTime etc. My services start from $600 and can include pre wedding planning and booking of venue, photographers, catering etc and also on-the-day coordination.
