What a night.

On Friday, we had the privilege of delivering the 36th Annual Rider Levett Bucknall RLB Property Industry Awards for Property Council New Zealand at the magnificent New Zealand International Convention Centre (NZICC), welcoming a record-breaking 1,610 guests.

Not only was this our 20th year producing and delivering these awards, but also the largest Property Industry Awards ever held, and it was also the largest gala dinner produced at the brand-new NZICC to date. A remarkable milestone for an extraordinary venue and an event that has continued to grow year after year. I suspect this record may stand for quite some time 😮‍💨.

Feeling very grateful to TVNZ for the invitation (end of last year), to join the hosts of TVNZ Breakfast Show and share my thoughts on how corporate end-of-year celebrations are evolving.

From the golden days of lavish, no-expense-spared parties to today’s more purposeful, experience-driven and values-led events, it was great to talk about the shifts I’m seeing across the industry and what that means for brands and teams.

I won’t lie… I was super nervous. First time in front of the cameras instead of behind them and hearing the questions for the first time while live on air (brain froze a few times)😅 But it was an incredible experience and such a privilege to represent our industry on a national platform.

After an intense few weeks of planning, yesterday the I Want Orange team delivered the largest public activation Watercare has ever undertaken.

Working alongside a highly dedicated client team, we seamlessly came together as one incredible whānau to bring this experience to life - and to deliver it safely, smoothly, and with real impact.

Throwback to 2016 when we craned two McLaren supercars onto the top floor of Shed 10 for an unforgettable moment. It was a ‘butt-clenching’ experience that pushed boundaries and left a lasting impression. I’m looking forward to the upcoming gala dinners we have booked at the fabulous Shed 10!

I’ve had a few people ask, “How have you already been through the NZICC a few times during construction when I haven’t even set foot in it yet?”

Well… newsflash - it’s because we’ve been working closely with the incredible team at the New Zealand International Convention Centre to bring one of our most prestigious events to their brand-new venue in mid-2026.

It’s been quite the journey to get here - and we’re thrilled to be hosting the first major large-scale awards ceremony at the NZICC… we are talking plans for 1,900+ pax gala awards

A huge thank you to the NZICC team and our visionary clients for taking the leap with us and confirming the event well before the venue officially opens (no pressure, right?!).

We’ll be making the formal announcement a little later in the year - but for now, it’s full steam ahead into planning mode. 👏

Today we had the incredible opportunity to experience the world’s first electric hydrofoil tourism experience – and what a ride it was!

Gliding above the water at speeds of up to 28 knots and smoothly carving through 15-degree turns felt more like flying than boating.

An unforgettable experience that truly showcases the future of sustainable marine tourism.
