Takapuna Beach Series – Race 14: The Grand Finale
We’ve made it. One last lap, one last push, one last chance to send it.
Race 14 wraps up the season in true Takapuna style — good people, big efforts, and a finish line that’s seen a whole summer of wins… and a few very optimistic sprint finishes.
Whether you’re chasing a result, ringing the bell for a PB, or just soaking up the final night of the season, this is the one to show up for.
Let’s finish it properly.
WEATHER
Easterly winds are set to make things a bit blowy, sitting fully onshore at around 20km/h sustained and gusting up to 28km/h. There’s still plenty of sunshine in the mix, with a very low tide adding a little extra spice to the evening.
SWIMMERS
It’s shaping up to be a classic final swim of the season at the Beach Series.
We’ll be heading into the water on a very low, slack tide — and yes, that could mean the longest run of your lives 😅
But stick with it. It’ll all be worth it when you hit that finish line.
SUP RACERS
SUP Racers — it’s looking like a proper easterly blast 🌬️
At this stage, we’re planning a shorter out-and-back course to keep things more manageable and, ideally, keep you on your boards rather than swimming beside them.
There were some seriously sharp turns around the buoys last week, so we’re looking forward to seeing more of that skill on show one final time.
Let’s finish the season strong.
SANDBOX CREW
Sandboxers — this is it. Last chance to send it.
Two events left, Cody’s lined something up, and you already know it won’t be gentle.
Empty the tank, embrace the chaos, and make it one to remember.
