PHAB NZ

PHAB NZ PHAB is an inclusive organisation that promotes self reliance to enhance the social opportunities for people with disabilities. Many memories are formed.

Charities Commission CC26851 PHAB Association (Auckland) Incorporated PHAB is not an organization "of" or "for" people with disabilities. The PHAB experience is offered jointly and equally to disabled and non-disabled people. The opportunities and activities are intended to be of equal benefit to all members. As our members tend to have a long term involvement with PHAB much fun is had.

Today at PHAB we stand together against bullying and celebrate kindness, inclusion, and acceptance for all.

Everyone deserves to feel safe, valued, and respected for exactly who they are. By wearing pink, we’re helping spread the message that kindness matters and that together we can create communities where everyone belongs 🌈

This week our PEERS groups celebrated NZSL Week by learning more about New Zealand Sign Language! 🀟

Together we explored the NZSL website, learned how to access and navigate online resources, downloaded the NZSL app, and even translated our names into sign language.

We also watched a fascinating mini film about the art of translating live music into NZSL β€” an incredible insight into communication, expression, and accessibility through sign. 🎢

It was a fun and engaging way to build awareness, learn new skills, and celebrate the Deaf community and New Zealand Sign Language. πŸ’™
