Registry ceremonies are quick and easy for couples and their guests. But there is more than meets the eye as a celebrant. I love to create the space, the vibe and the experience for every wedding, regardless of the size. Behind every great celebrant and celebrant space is:
☕️ lots of coffee, 🧹 vacuuming and scrubbing to transform the Nala 🐕 space into my welcoming registry space, 😎 🎶 playing my favourite music to create the vibes while I prep, 🍊 a spritz of orange room spray, 🪴 a freshen up of my indoor plant space, 💐 thoughtfully placed flowers, and a tidy up outside. The little details all create a warm welcoming aesthetic, enhancing the intimate, love filled magic of registry ceremonies. Before and after there’s lots of emails 💻 back and forth to get the details right and legals confirmed, and printing the paperwork 📋 ready to “sign seal and deliver” 🎶 each marriage. When the couple and their guests leave, I return our home to its original orientation, send the signed license to births deaths and marriages for the national marriage register, and baske in the post-wedding joy and feel-goods. All part of the registry ceremony service and privilege.

What a beautiful day filled with joy, love and happily ever afters. As an I love nothing more than a tiki tour to couples homes and to host couples at our home. Registry ceremonies are intimate, simple and legally complete while still retaining all of the love, honour and commitment. Today I had the privilege of walking three couples through their registry ceremonies, resulting in three and one delighted . My dog Nala came for a ride to my last ceremony in Papatoetoe, and we took a wander through Bunnings together afterwards to refresh my indoor plant collection, and a coffee stop and chat with a lovely couple who dotted over Nala - amazing coffee as always. I am so happy to love what I do AND do what I love.

Love receiving photos from my happy newly-weds. Courtney and Zac were married in a family members back yard. It was beautiful, intimate, and just what they wanted. Thanks for the photo share and credit to for the beautiful work.

I have had a BIG month officiating intimate registries, a beach elopement and stunning full ceremonies. It is a privilege and honour to be asked to be celebrant for so many beautiful couples who are now married couples. We had booked today’s ceremony for next week but an opening came up for them and I was able to flex and make it happen. Meant to be! A rest now until Thursday.

Explored a new beach for me today, but a beach this couple have great meaning and affection for. Was where they were engaged and today where they were married. Their cat was their ring bearer and digger of holes- just in case they were needed. Intimate, full of love, a few best friends, their fur baby and a ceremony making them husband and wife. What an honour!

Visited one of my favourite AI Art sources today on Etsy and bought this beauty. I’m thinking she might fit on both my weddings pages and my soulful self course. She looks very soulful. Nice work WWP!! Check out the prints available on https://www.etsy.com/nz/shop/WhisperwoodPress

Amazing week as a - Thursday afternoon I was warmly welcomed into to a couples home that they share with their family, for their registry ceremony. A big cultural ceremony will follow in a few weeks. We shared a lot of laughs and beautiful food afterwards. Such generous hospitality. And delicious homemade Baklava. ♥️ Thursday night I had two online couples chats 💻- the first was a meet and greet witha new couple and sign up for their in October. We shared a lot of laughs on that call too. The second video call was with one of my Super Simple and Sweet couples who I’m officiating for our on a west coast beach 🐚 on Sunday. We walked through the structure of the ceremony, answered questions, and confirmed the all important meeting point! 📍Today I hosted another couple and their witnesses at our home. I had picked up some stands and flowers 💐 on Trademe, so they created a pretty spot in the corner today. The couple had already had a cultural festival and were completing their marriage with a legal with me. I truly am so lucky to meet so many wonderful couples from all cultures and ethnicities. This week I met families from Iraq, a couple from Kenya, one from the UK and one New Zealand European couple. I am learning a lot about cultural practices around marriages, and along the way, am expanding my knowledge and understanding of culturally appropriate behaviour and practices. Life provides never-ending lessons. I’m so grateful to be welcomed in to learn them.
