About our name – Mise en Place (pronounced “meez on plahss”) is a French culinary term that refers to the organization and preparation of all ingredients and equipment to be used in cooking or serving food. The literal translation is “set in place”. It was a phrase that MEP founder and managing director Sean Collins heard countless times while studying at Johnson and Wales College of Food Innovation and Technology in the USA.

Last week, we welcomed the wonderful ladies from the Cayman Islands Breast Cancer Foundation to our office for a talk with members of our team. It was a valuable session and a timely reminder of the importance of awareness, early detection, and regular self-checks.

A devoted family man, a passionate golfer, and an avid sailor — Sean's love for life is just as strong as his love for his island and his people.
