A fantastic East Wall welcome was extended to Mary Goggin (“Runaway Princess”). She got to be greeted by our Mayor Eddie Byrne, meet some of our most friendly local residents, have a chat with Oscar nominated local actor Scott Graham and enjoy a cup of coffee with another Mary.

And her shows aren’t even on until next week !

THE CHAMP IS IN THE HOUSE 👊👊👊

Fantastic to have Kellie Harrington pay us a visit and she certainly received a heros welcome in the day care centre. She is a champion we can all be so proud of, and she always prepared to give back to the community. Brilliant !

Hopefully she will pop down to see the latest photo
exhibition by Eddie and James , and maybe join us next month for the Sean O'Casey Festival.

BOOK LAUNCH AND PHOTO EXHIBITION

Monday 9th September @ 7.30pm

Sean O’Casey Community Centre

Independent Dublin publishers Hi Tone Books will release Colm Pierce's book “Sheriff Street Dublin 1” on September 9th as part of this year's Seán O'Casey festival.

Sheriff Street Dublin 1 - Colm Pierce (Hi Tone Books 2024)

Dubliner Colm Pierce’s intimate and sensitive work spotlights Sheriff Street and its surrounding areas. Nestled between Dublin’s docklands and the Irish Financial Service Centre, at a time when its north inner city working class community transcended traditional dockland industry unemployment to the imminent arrival of Celtic Tiger gentrification. From its schools, football teams, community disco and play groups, an oft overlooked and polarised neighbourhood and its residents are vividly captured through the joy, hope and grind of family life, youthful coming of age and mid-life routine. From reputation to relocation, decay to demolition. The belonging to and uncertainties of, a community in the midst of beckoning change.
