Another trip back into the vinyl years today, and this one marked my **second release on iLogik’s mighty Elasticman imprint**. ❤️💿

**Carl Nicholson & Chrysus – “2 Dance 2”**, written alongside the incredibly talented **Micky — aka Chrysus**.

I’d already had *Streamline* out on Elasticman, so being invited back onto the label again meant a lot. Elasticman had a brilliant identity and was putting out some seriously strong music around this period, so I was proud to be part of it.

And working with Micky was an absolute pleasure. Another one of those collaborations where two different musical heads get in a studio, start throwing ideas around and eventually something takes shape that neither of you would necessarily have made on your own.

The vinyl featured the **Original** alongside an **iLogik Remix**, and seeing that Elasticman logo with **Carl Nicholson & Chrysus** underneath it was another little milestone in those early years.

Looking back through all these records now, you realise they weren't just releases — **each one was another step forward, another studio session, another friendship and another piece of the journey.**

Now we’re getting into some **seriously important records in my journey.** 💛🖤

**Carl Nicholson – Blueprint (Tara’s Theme)** backed with **Devil’s Door**, released on **Tidy**.

After finally getting my foot through the door with Tidy, this was another massive moment — **a full Carl Nicholson release with my name right across that unmistakable Tidy sleeve.**

And **Blueprint** is still a track I’ve got a real soft spot for.

This was the sound of me really beginning to establish what **Carl Nicholson** was about musically at that point — tough, driving, melodic, emotional in places, but still with enough bo****ks to absolutely go off on a dancefloor. 😂🔥

That era of Tidy was special. Vinyl was still king, record shops mattered, DJs hunted for tunes, and seeing one of your own records sitting in those racks alongside artists you’d followed for years was a feeling that’s difficult to describe.

And just look at that sleeve… **you knew instantly it was Tidy.**

These old records really are the **blueprint** of everything that came afterwards for me — through hard house and hard trance, into trance, albums, remixes and everything I’m still doing today.

Now this one was a **proper milestone for me.** 💛🖤

**Technikal Presents Carl Nicholson – “System Shock”** — my **first ever release on Tidy**.

For anyone involved in the harder side of UK dance music, you’ll know exactly what that meant. **Tidy was one of those labels I’d looked at for years thinking, “I want my name on one of those records.”**

And eventually… there it was.

Seeing **CARL NICHOLSON** on that unmistakable yellow Tidy sleeve for the first time was a genuine *f**k me, this is actually happening* moment. 😂

This release paired **Pierre Pienaar – “Global Panic”** with my track **“System Shock”**, presented by Technikal, and it became the start of a relationship with Tidy that would end up playing a pretty significant part in my career.

Looking back at it now makes it even more special. From that **first Tidy release**, through all the music, gigs and madness that followed, to eventually releasing my album **Reverent on Tidy Two** years later…

You never really know where that first opportunity is going to lead.

But I definitely remember how proud I was to finally have that little **Tidy man** on one of my records. ❤️

Another one pulled from deep in the vinyl collection today… ❤️

**Matt Williams & Carl Nicholson – “Streamline”**, released on **Elasticman Records**, with the **Original** backed up by an **Equinox Remix**.

This was another snapshot of where my head was musically at the time. I was still exploring that crossover between **hard house, hard trance and the more driving, techier sounds** that were starting to creep into what I was producing.

That’s one of the things I love about looking back through these old releases. Long before everything became instant and digital, every record represented a proper moment — writing the track, getting it engineered, waiting for it to be pressed, getting the test pressings and eventually seeing the finished vinyl sitting there with **your name on the sleeve**.

And believe me, that feeling never got boring.
