Today is the final day of our retrospective exhibition of Alan Cameron’s Borders landscapes.

Thank you to everyone who has visited, shared memories, and spent time enjoying this wonderful collection of paintings over the past couple of weeks. It has been a pleasure to celebrate Alan Cameron’s remarkable vision of the Borders with so many visitors.

After today, we will be closing for Common Riding week.

We wish everyone a fantastic week and hope you enjoy all the celebrations in Hawick. Have a wonderful Common Riding!

We look forward to welcoming you back when we reopen on 9th June.

There is still time to visit our retrospective exhibition of Alan Cameron’s Borders landscapes, continuing in the bookshop until 30th May at Cornucopia Unit Four, 4 Towerdykeside, Hawick, TD9 9EA.

The exhibition brings together a wonderful collection of Cameron’s atmospheric and deeply observed paintings, celebrating the beauty and character of the Scottish Borders landscape.

If you’ve ever avoided a bookshop because browsing with little ones felt too stressful — consider this your sign to come in anyway. Wiggles, wandering, snack negotiations and all!

📖Reading Poetry Together
🕖 7pm, Wednesday 20th May

Join us for an evening exploring the work of multi-award-winning poet Jen Hadfield, who grew up in England and now lives in Shetland.

Together we’ll read and enjoy some of her linguistically joyful poems — rich with wonder, wit, and attention to the natural world.

Hadfield has said:

“We live in painful times, in a difficult world, and yet the world is still overwhelmingly magical. Poetry gives us a chance to stop, reflect, process, cope, grieve and revere.”

This afternoon, we hosted the preview of the retrospective of Alan Cameron's Borders landscape collection at Cornucopia Unit Four.

✨It was wonderful to welcome our visitors throughout the afternoon and to share conversations with Ann Riley (Alan's wife) around the paintings, the stories behind them, and the enduring character of the Borders itself that inspired Alan over the years.

A sincere thank you to everyone who joined us today, and helped make the event such a warm and memorable occasion.

The exhibition continues in the bookshop between 19th-30th May, and we look forward to welcoming you.
