Evolver

31/08/2026

Hello pop pickers!

So it’s been a while since we did a proper update and as Dan said on his debut album ‘About time’.

It’s a long update so brace yourself!!

Firstly let us all say that we have missed playing for you in our band format as we’ve had almost 17 years of Evolver with various line ups and that’s quite something 👏🏻🎶😎.

We had a shock in the Autumn last year when our dear bass player Nick Bayes passed away suddenly after a short illness. This enforced time out and we still miss him terribly. 😢

In addition, other commitments had already started to encroach on our availability so we seemed to be not as busy as a group although we were all super busy elsewhere. So, as we haven’t been playing together we thought we’d give you an update on some of our activity 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟

Dan: Well as you will see in the last status update Dan is still singing and playing with Neil from the band in an acoustic format, as well as playing with other bands shown on his website (see below) and solo work. He continues to run his brilliant choirs in London and Honiton and is teaching music 🎶 at various schools. 🏫 and of course he continues to write songs 🥰

Here’s his website:

Lorraine/Lozza: continues to be a vocalist with the amazing 🎷 Exeter Jazz Orchestra, she is also songwriting and performing in an originals band called DUANA with Neil. You might also see her pop up at the Mermaid in Exeter on Jazz nights as a guest singer. And! She sings with the brilliant Impossible Gospel Mission Choir. 🙌🏻

Neil: aside from playing with Dan, Neil has been the musical director and musician with the Italian, Latin style group Per la Vita. He’s also been musical director and main songwriter and composer with DUANA and has been super busy producing their first album! 💿 🤩 gigs coming up!

We still play with our lovely drummer Darren Crome even if it isn’t in the function line up.

We can’t say what’s around the corner but never say never and hopefully this will explain why we’ve not been out and about.

So, please keep your eyes and ears open for us in the above projects and acoustic goings on!

And until the next time, keeeeeeeeep dancin’ - sorry, we know that’s Strictly but you know what we mean! Support live music 🎶 it rocks!

Love, Evolver ###xx
