PUMP STREET JENGA !
While businesses on Pump Street suffer - A real life game of Jenga persists !
Let's hear from anyone who actually believes that a section of the former Convent Of Mercy doesn't need to be dismantled/demolished and then, if preservation is the aim, reconstructed.
The amount of money spent on monster cranes being brought to the location, teams hanging around on standby, waiting on meeting outcomes, air quality machines sampling the air quality, adjoining buildings, displaying cracks, with crack measuring braces/brackets/tags, or whatever the f**k they're called, thingymabobs, stuck to the front of them, demolition teams and cranes removed, shipping containers stacked up down the middle of the street, whilst local businesses suffer, must be at joke levels.
GOOD NEWS THOUGH - it looks like, while everyone is waiting for the convent to give up and fall down on of own accord, plans are afoot to dress/light up, for Christmas, the shipping containers which have been erected as a safety measure, to contain the rubble if/when the building eventually collapses.
Happy Christmas Pump Street !
( BTW - This is as close as I could get for fear that the downdraft from the DJI mini pro might cause the structure to come tumbling down !! )
