We were pleased to be invited to provide a poster presentation at the Mental Health Strategy Conference at Ulster University, focusing on the theme ‘Mind the Gap’ – Tackling Mental Health Inequalities using a Public Mental Health Approach Public Health Agency

Our poster showcased the BEST programme (Building Emotional Strength Together) – an early intervention, creative programme developed to support the mental health and emotional wellbeing of young autistic children or those awaiting autism evaluation and enhance the awareness and understanding of autism with children, aged 4–7.

Say hello to Samantha!

Samantha has been part of the Verbal team for the past 6 months, bringing her warm energy and life experience to her role as a Project Trainer.

Outside of work, she enjoys nothing more than heading out for long walks with her very large and lovely family – that’s 7 children and 3 grandchildren! She also loves spending time in the beautiful Cotswolds' with her partner.

Fun fact: Samantha was born in Germany and spent half of her life there – something not many people know!

📚 Our Story Exchange project in BallymagroartyHazelbank CommunityPartnership (Derry) and Blackmountain Action Group (Belfast) has officially come to a close — and what an incredible journey it's been!

From Creative Reading to Creative Writing, participants shared powerful conversations, built meaningful connections, and brought their own stories to life.

Funded by the Northern Ireland Executive, this community outreach initiative reminded us just how powerful storytelling can be in bringing people together.

Here’s to continuing to build a future where every voice is heard and everyone belongs.

Thank you to everyone who took part in this project!

Meet Marie – our new PEACE of Mind Project Trainer at Verbal!

See Marie in action during her first PEACE of Mind delivery session at St. Joseph's College Enniskillen last week, alongside two of her favourite doorways she found in Brussels and in Paris below.

Welcome to the team, Marie!

🎶 The Foyle Yarn-spinners are back at Verbal for their monthly get-together 14𝘵𝘩 𝘈𝘱𝘳𝘪𝘭 7𝘱𝘮 𝘵𝘰 10𝘱𝘮– and this month their special guests are the 𝐃’𝐔𝐤𝐞𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐆𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐬𝐡𝐚! 🎸✨

Bringing joy through music, the D’Ukes perform as a wellness support to groups across the community – from the brain injury ward at Altnagelvin Hospital to train rides for the elderly.

With their Beginners group and ‘Uke for Fun’ sessions, they prove that it’s never too late to pick up a ukulele and feel the magic of music! 💚🎵

Join them for an evening of stories, song, and connection – all are welcome!

"Hey everyone! I’m Sinéad, Verbal’s Office Manager, and I’ve been part of the team for nearly 14 years now. I’m a big fan of Excel (but PowerPoint… not so much!).

Lately, I’ve taken on a new role as the Claims and Finance Administrator for the PEACEPLUS PEACE of Mind project, and I’m really looking forward to the challenge!

When I’m not working, you’ll usually find me with my nose in a book—especially feel-good fiction with strong female leads—or catching up with family and friends for some well-earned downtime."

🚀 𝐓𝐚𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐍𝐞𝐱𝐭 𝐒𝐭𝐞𝐩 🚀

We’re proud to collaborate with Rural Area Partnership In Derry (Lead Partner) and Children in Crossfire to bring the Taking the Next Step programme to 28 rural primary schools over the next two academic years!

This initiative will support over 200 rural students in their final year of primary school, equipping them with the skills and confidence to navigate their transition to secondary education successfully.

Through engaging and interactive sessions, students will explore topics such as resilience, emotional intelligence, self-regulation, effective communication, identity formation, health management, and peace & reconciliation.

Together, we’re ensuring that young people feel prepared, empowered, and ready for the next stage of their educational journey. 💡✨

Thanks to St Patrick's Primary School, Castlederg and St Caireall's Primary School, Aghyaran for taking part in the programme with a visit to Verbal last week!
