2025 Hayfield Round Up!

As the New Year begins we like to look back to take a moment to celebrate the year just gone.
Success comes in all shapes and sizes from having your first ride on a pony, successfully putting a bridle on to mastering the rising trot. Everyone has done brilliantly!
There has been fun Pony Care Camps and an Adult summer camp, another 2 UHI level 4 Horse Care Courses completed and the NC course are in their 2nd year. The vaulting has taken off and a great Pony Race was had down at Kelso.
We have also had lots of BHS Exam passes, the most we have done in a year; with 5 stage ones, two full stage 2 and a stage 2 care and lunge, a stage 3 care and lunge and stage 3 coach.
Pony Club assessments have been great this year with an AH pass-a huge achievement and a C+ care which was their first assessment away from home and they did us proud. We also held a step 1 coaching course which was greatly enjoyed.

We had teams down at Nationals and they won the Dodson & Horrell National Pony Club Quiz as well as having members on the winning and 2nd place senior area quiz teams. We also won the Blue Cross National Senior Pony Club Horse and Pony Care competition. An amazing achievement, showing their dedication to learning about caring for our horses.
Aberdeen University A team made it through to the BUCS national finals with one team member placing 2nd in the showjumping, out of a large number of competitors-a big well done!

Junior January Beginner Courses
(For those 11 and under)

A great introduction to learning how to ride our fabulous ponies! These courses teach the initial first steps in a safe and engaging way. From how to mount, communicate with your pony and progressing on-this is a lovely way to get your child started on their equestrian journey!
At Hayfield we have the ribbon system which,for over 50 years, has ensured riders progress following a structured pathway that many successful riders have followed. This course will take you through your orange and pink ribbon.

Sessions can be booked individually but you save money by booking the whole course. (Works out at 2 lessons for free!)

Currently available are: Starting Monday 12th 4.30pm, Thursday 15th 5.30pm, Saturday 17th 11am, Sunday 18th 4pm.

In the New Year we will be starting our ‘Get Riding’ sessions! Perfect for those who have been out of riding for a wee while or for those who have always thought about trying horse riding.
At Hayfield we pride ourselves on having a supportive and encouraging community that we would love to invite you to join! In these sessions you will get to meet our horses and ponies, have the time to give them a groom and bond with them before having a coffee and a piece of cake. This will give you time to meet your fellow riders before having a go at riding and getting back in the saddle!

Sessions are:
January 13th, 20th, 27th from 6.30-8pm.
January 18th 1.30-3pm
