For Volunteers' Week, volunteer Raphaël shares his thoughts: "I love volunteering at Aberdeen Arts Centre because I get to meet so many different people but also I feel like I am helping the community have access to the arts. We're closing out Act I of the Save Aberdeen Arts Centre campaign as we prepare to head into the next act - but we're not there yet.

We need to raise £60,000 in the next six weeks.

This achievement belongs to all of the amazing local performers and community members, volunteers, staff and board members that have worked tirelessly over the last year to protect the home of grassroots arts in Aberdeen.

"I have been a volunteer at Aberdeen Arts Centre for 2 years following my retirement from paid employment in hospitality spanning some 40 years. Working at the Arts Centre has provided me with the opportunity to use my knowledge and experience to help make customers welcome to our shows and events.

"Being part of a great team working towards a common goal has been a reward that money alone could not deliver. I would recommend it to anyone at any stage of their life."
