not so festive and one of the most gut wrenching posts i’ve had to write…
our dear sweet maddi lost her dear sweet nick. life can be so unfair sometimes. ive literally never felt so much hurt and heartbreak for someone as i do for maddi right now. which i know is only a sliver of what she’s feeling.
on sun dec 21, nick suddenly passed away in his sleep. it’s truly tragic and was totally unexpected. nick was amazing. if you knew him, you loved him. he was such an uplifting and cheerful guy. bringing so much joy to all. i’m so lucky i got to know him better and hang out with him more, especially over the last few months.
nick loved maddi in a BIG way. i’ll never forget all the times he stopped by the store with carrie (their cute frenchie) just sooo excited to see maddi. or when they would have lunch at the tiny pink table in the shop window. and when they got married. that was such a special day full of so much love. i’ll never forget being outside of three speed, with maddi + nick before the dyan concert. nick ran into an old friend. he was SO excited to call maddi his wife. i remembering staring at him in total awe— admiring his true love for maddi.
maddi is the BEST. the most kind and compassionate person. she cares deeply about others. i won the jackpot with her coming into my life. she’s become a close friend and is an incredible addition to the shop. we have so much fun together (slightly unhinged especially lately with sister emily!). maddi is one of my favourite people — with the most beautiful smile!!! i can’t stop thinking about her smile. im so lucky to have her in my life. we all are.
there is a go fund me set up for maddi. to help relieve any financial stress from this entire mess. if you’re able to donate, it would mean so much.
