Amidst the excitement of choosing your bridal party, sending save the dates, and finalizing the guest list, one crucial decision stands out: securing your wedding venue. Here are some key factors to consider before booking…

1. If your heart is set on a particular date, it’s best to start reaching out to venues ASAP (especially if that date is in high season).

2. Most couples book their venue 12-18 months in advance, giving them peace of mind and ample time to organize other vendors and logistics.

3. You can book your venue without having all the details figured out! The only detail you need is your estimated guest count.

One of our most asked venue questions...

"How does the bar work?"

As with so much of wedding planning, choosing the right bar set-up is all about choosing what matters most to you. At Cornerstone Weddings, we offer three bar service options:

🥂Cash Bar: Guests purchase their own drinks.
🍹Subsidized Bar: Guests are given a pre-determined number of drink tickets to use, compliments of the couple. Afterwards, the bar runs as a cash bar.
🍷Open Bar: All drinks are purchased on the host's tab.

Most of our couples opt for a subsidized bar service for ease of budgeting. But that doesn’t mean you’re stuck with only drink tickets.

You can also purchase bottles of wine for each table during dinner service, add a custom welcome drink, or opt for a champagne wall during your ceremony.

The best part? Your bar tab counts towards your overall minimum spend (including what your guests spend).
