It's hard to believe these photos are of the same building.

Built in the early 1800s, this chapel served the original Coolangatta Estate settlement and was once consecrated Anglican ground. For generations, it welcomed convicts, settlers and station workers through its doors, becoming an important part of daily life on the Estate.

The second photograph shows a building that had fallen into significant disrepair. Time, weather and changing fortunes had taken their toll, and for a period it seemed this piece of history might be lost forever.

Thankfully, it wasn't.

Today, the chapel remains one of the oldest surviving buildings on the property and a tangible link to Coolangatta's past. Over the years, it has witnessed countless baptisms, weddings and family milestones, including generations of the Bishop family.

Swipe through to see the transformation.

🤍 If these walls could talk, what story do you think they'd tell?

Not much to look at now... 🍇

But this is where every Coolangatta vintage begins.

Who else loves seeing the vineyard wake up after winter?

Everyone loves harvest photos.

But some of the most important work happens when nothing exciting seems to be happening at all.

Healthy vines are built in the quiet seasons — through pruning, mowing, monitoring and a lot of patience.

Good wine starts long before harvest. 🍇

Let’s talk Chambourcin.

Our first vintage was bottled in 1995, and it’s been a staple here ever since.

It’s a French hybrid variety that just works on the South Coast — handles the humidity, holds its acidity, and doesn’t mind a bit of rain. Which, around here… matters.

There’s a reason it’s become a bit of a local signature. In the glass, it’s dark fruit, a bit of spice, and easy to drink without overthinking it.

Available for tasting and purchase at the cellar door.
