Due to the rain today we did close our Persimmon Room restaurant for the evening. Normal hours will presume again tomorrow, Friday, August 14.

One simple decision changed the entire feel of this wedding day: choosing to trust the process.

When we woke up to rain, it would’ve been easy to let disappointment take over. Megan had always envisioned saying “I do” out on the golf course, surrounded by the view she had dreamed about for so long. As the weather continued, Plan B quickly became moving everything indoors.

But before giving up on that dream completely, I asked her to trust me just a little longer.

Instead of letting the rain steal the moment, we embraced it. Umbrellas came out, raindrops fell, and Megan and Wes exchanged vows outside just as they had hoped—only with a little extra character. And honestly? It couldn’t have been more beautiful.

Some of my favorite wedding moments happen when the day doesn’t go exactly according to plan. They become a reminder that perfection isn’t what makes a wedding unforgettable. It’s the joy, the people beside you, and the willingness to embrace whatever the day brings.

To The DeGarmos—thank you for trusting the process, leaning into the unexpected, and showing everyone that a little rain can make for an incredibly beautiful beginning. ☔️🤍

And a huge shoutout to the amazing vendor team who pivoted, adapted, and worked together every step of the way. Wedding days like this are only possible because of incredible teamwork, and I couldn’t be more grateful!
