To everyone who came to our rescue at Sable Creek Homestead immediately following Wednesday’s storm, thank you from the bottom of our hearts! ❤️
The storm that ripped through was brutal and caused significant damage. Our ceremony site took a heavy hit, along with one of our large trees and the majority of trees on the property. We lost our coop, windmill, and shed, and were left without power, right as we had weddings scheduled for the weekend.
But within hours, we had an incredible all hands on deck response. Our ceremony site was completely rebuilt on site the morning of Friday’s wedding and was ready to go, complete with beautiful new doors. It was nothing short of amazing to watch everything come together so quickly.
First and foremost, we want to thank God for protecting the venue, house and buildings.
We are endlessly grateful to:
Patrick Clark with Picture Perfect Improvements and his team — thank you for your hard work and dedication to helping us rebuild.
Armando Nicasio with Armondos Tree Service and his team — thank you for clearing the debris, removing limbs, and scaling the trees to make sure everything was safe.
To our entire Sable Creek Homestead team — thank you for stepping in immediately, supporting one another, and doing whatever it took to get us back on our feet.
And to our wonderful couples, Chris and Loren and Matt and Allison who were getting married that weekend: Your patience, understanding, and trust in us during this unimaginable situation meant everything. We were determined not to let anything stand in the way of your special day, and we’re so thankful you stood by us while we made it happen.
A huge thank you as well for the power restoration — after we had reinforcements step in and a few strings pulled, we had electricity back on 48 hours earlier than originally estimated so our weddings could happen as planned.
We’re hopeful we can save our big tree and are watching closely for new signs of life. Fingers crossed it won’t have to come down entirely.
While we’ve been pouring everything into getting the property and this weekend’s weddings back in order, we know our response times to messages and inquiries have been slower than usual. We truly appreciate your patience and understanding. We’re working hard to catch up and expect to be back to our normal response times next week. Thank you again for bearing with us!
With so much love and gratitude,
The Sable Creek Homestead Family
