🥹I received the most beautiful and unexpected gift yesterday from a dear lifelong friend.

🌸The gorgeous blanket was made in the likeness of this absolutely stunning painting by Regina Dell

🌄The painting was inspired by this photograph I captured last year of the dahlias at sunset.

I love this more than words can express ❤️

Tomorrow is my last time at Sykesville Farmers Market for the 2026 season. Stop by and take some of the late summer bounty home with you.

🌸 Sometimes a single flower is so stunningly beautiful it stops me in my tracks. This was certainly one of them, I couldn’t stop staring at it.

PSA: Instagram is not real life.
Flower farming is so much more than the beautiful blooms we like to share. It’s late summer and we are dirty and tired and sweaty. Hug your local flower farmer today 👩‍🌾💐

Honest confession: one of my absolute favorite weeks of the year is always the Howard County Fair. The spotlight on local agriculture and the farming community that is the heart and soul of Western Howard County, the delicious food from local vendors, the questionable rides, the wholesome atmosphere that reminds me of simpler times- I love every aspect of it.

As a kid in 4-H I would enter crafts and baked goods each year, as a teenager I would roam the causeway and ride the rides with friends until they kicked us out at closing time. After almost 20 years away from the area during early adulthood, I now return each year with my own family to relive my youth and embrace the community I once again call home.

I truly can’t think of a better way to end each summer.
