🧡 Saffron and Gold ✨

Our 24kt Gold Glazed Vase featuring the Eight Auspicious Symbols was designed by Lama Sonam Rinpoché in collaboration with a close student who has contributed artistically to the treasure vase project ever since Lama Tharchin Rinpoché first began Treasure of Abundance.

A family of exquisite craftsmen in Taiwan using special techniques emboss the elegant details of the Parasol, Conch, Two Golden Fish, Endless Knot, Treasure Vase, Victory Banner, Lotus Flower, and Dharma Wheel on each 24kt gold glazed vase.

Every Treasure of Abundance treasure vase contains rolls of mantras dipped in saffron water. Saffron is used in Tibetan Buddhism as a sacred offering of perfume.

“There are also all different kinds of accomplishment practices, sadhana practices for consecrating vases. There are practices of the goddess Norgunma (Lakshi, Pal Lhamo), naga practices, Dzambhala practices. There are really a lot of different kinds of practices. Our treasure vases are consecrated through the practice of Orgyen Khandro Norlha.

In all of these treasure vases, there are images of the deities of the practices that are used for consecrating them, as well as mantras and mandala images. Also there is a mandala of merit that goes into them, as well as all different kinds of medicinal plants and different kinds of substances. The historical Shakyamuni Buddha of the Shakya clan is known by various names: the Gautama Buddha, Omniscient One, Thus Gone One, and the Lion of the Shakyas, among others. Through his own example and experiences, Shakyamuni Buddha demonstrated the path of awakening, and ultimate liberation from samsara. His teachings are a continuous reminder of the Buddha within us. His mantra is: Oṃ Mune Mune Mahāmunaye Svāhā.
