Sitting here waiting on these kids like 👀 while my hair is NOT doing what we discussed 😩 and that is exactly what got me thinking...

Does your hair make the outfit?

Baby. OF COURSE IT DOES. 😭

Same dress. Same accessories. Same makeup.

Wrong hair = “okay, I’m cute.”

Right hair = “oh, she’s GORGEOUS.”

And I think we forget that when we’re planning wedding-day beauty.

Your hair may not be the outfit, but it can absolutely change how the whole look feels, and sometimes how confident you feel wearing everything else.

It’s not everything.

But baby, it is absolutely not nothing.

Ask me how I know. 💀 Currently living proof and on my way to fix this situation as we speak.

Tell me you agree below 👇

The morning started here.

Matching pajamas, a room full of women she loves, little hands under the veil, and those quiet moments before the day became a wedding day.

Before the ceremony.

Before the reception.

Before everything got louder.

Just Tati, her girls, and the beginning of Chaskin: A Love Letter to the Coast.

This is only the first chapter of a truly incredible day.

Planning a dry wedding? Let’s talk about the guest experience! 🥂

There is a huge misconception that an alcohol-free wedding means the bar conversation is completely over. You can absolutely still have a talented mixologist, an interactive bar setup, and custom signature drinks that wow your guests. We do this for corporate holidays and luxury parties all the time—your wedding deserves that same level of high-end design!

Dry does not have to mean dull. It just means we get to be more creative with the flavors and the presentation. 🌿🍋

I want to know—what is your all-time favorite mocktail or flavored drink that you would love to see served at a wedding? Drop your ideas below! 👇

A beautiful portfolio can tell me what a vendor creates.

A conversation tells me what it may feel like for my couple to work with them.

And that matters.

Your wedding team will be around you during some of the most personal, emotional, overstimulating, hilarious, and occasionally chaotic moments of the entire experience.

So yes, the work needs to be excellent.

But I am also listening for warmth. Flexibility.

Communication. Judgment. The way someone speaks about their clients. The way they respond when I ask a question that was not sitting neatly inside their brochure.

Sometimes two people can be equally talented, and one of them is simply a better fit for you.

That is the part of planning that cannot always be found in a portfolio.

Have you ever met someone and immediately known, “Yes, I want them on my team”?

Sorry, y’all, it’s hot out here 😂 I mixed up es**rt cards and place cards in the video.

Quick correction: es**rt cards direct guests to their assigned tables. Place cards identify their exact seats when seats are assigned.

Either way, these details are not just pretty pieces of paper.

If you are serving a plated dinner, they help your catering team know where every guest and every meal belongs.

Because once dinner begins, nobody wants servers walking around asking who ordered the chicken while three people suddenly decide they chose the steak.

A smooth reception is often protected by details guests may never realize mattered.

That is why your planner is asking the questions long before the first plate reaches the table.

Would you rather have a plated dinner, buffet, or family-style meal at your wedding?

If you are having a plated dinner, your seating chart and es**rt cards are not optional little décor details.

They are essential to dinner service.

Because nine times out of ten, everybody is not eating the same meal.

One guest selected chicken.

Another selected steak.

Somebody has a dietary restriction.

And your catering team needs to know exactly where those people are sitting before dinner begins.

Not somewhere in the room.

Not hopefully at Table Twelve.

Exactly where they are sitting.

Because once guests start switching seats, skipping the seating chart, or entering the reception without clear es**rt cards, dinner service can unravel very quickly.

Now servers are walking around asking who ordered what.

Guests do not remember the meal they selected months ago.

Somebody who ordered chicken suddenly decides the steak looks better.

And the guest with the dietary restriction is still waiting while everyone tries to figure out where their meal belongs.

Baby, dinner is not the time for a scavenger hunt.

This is why your planner is asking about seating assignments, es**rt cards, place cards, meal indicators, and catering deadlines long before your wedding day.

It may look like one small paper detail.

But when you are serving a plated dinner, that detail can determine whether service feels polished and seamless or completely falls apart.

Vendor negotiation isn’t about discounts — it’s about understanding the landscape.

Different regions, different norms, different expectations.

What’s normal in Tulsa isn’t normal in Italy, and what flies on the East Coast won’t even get a blink in Colorado.

As a destination planner, my job isn’t to “push” vendors — it’s to understand the culture of the market I’m stepping into.

Some caterers include tastings for free.

Some florists repurpose ceremony florals without charging.

Some rental companies bundle properties.

Others? Hard no.

It’s not personal — it’s regional.

And the respectful ask matters.

Not entitled.

Not demanding.

Just informed.

Because the worst they can say is no.

But the best is when you ask the right thing in the right region — and it lands beautifully.

Save this for your planning.

Share it with someone who needs it.

The pivot is where the magic happens. 🤍

This exact design was supposed to be our bride’s ultimate wedding blueprint. We spent hours architecting this stunning, custom coastal estate look complete with a sweeping serpentine table, fresh lemons nestled in the blues and whites, and a grand backyard layout.

And then... she completely changed her mind.

As a luxury producer, my favorite moment isn't always when a plan goes perfectly from start to finish. It’s the moment a client realizes their vision has evolved, and they trust us to wipe the slate clean and start building a completely new masterpiece from scratch.

We are officially shelving this beautiful design concept and diving headfirst into her brand-new aesthetic direction. (And trust me, the new vision is going to blow you away).

Planners and designers, how do you handle it when a client does a total 180 on their design? Let’s talk in the comments! 👇

As luxury wedding planners we are always paying attention — and the Philbrook Museum recently caught ours. 🏛️✨

On any given day the photography happening on those grounds can be absolutely stunning — and we have seen it. The light, the architecture, the gardens. When it lands, it really lands.

But what we have also noticed is the range. Some sessions are cinematic, dramatic, and completely editorial. Others feel like the space is barely being used at all. Same venue, completely different results.

And we think the difference comes down to one thing — intention.

The Philbrook is not a simple backdrop. It is a building with history, texture, and drama built into every corner. It rewards couples and photographers who come with a real vision. Structured silhouettes against stone arches. Colors that contrast instead of blend. A mix of staged moments and documentary motion that actually tells your story.

Your engagement session should feel like your first piece of editorial art as a couple — not just a pretty afternoon in a garden.
