It’s NICE to get some attention from the media and news…

THANK YOU TUCSON and FANS for SAVING US🤩

“The Rock” venue in Tucson has been a staple in the area for decades, providing a venue for up-and-coming bands as well as Tucson artists to share their craft.
The venue announced their closure weeks ago to build a five-story apartment complex, but 13 News has since learned that those plans will not happen and The Rock will stay open.

In November 2025, the venue announced they were going to close and a student housing apartment complex was going to take its place.
Rapper Lil Peep’s mother began a petition hoping to keep the event venue open in hopes of making a memorial. Outside of the venue there is a dedication for the late rapper.

That petition gained more 36,000 since it was created.
13 News spoke to Kent Van Stelle, The Rock’s owner, who said the developers, Ascent Property Company, will no longer buy The Rock and they will not tear it down.
Right now, there are events scheduled at The Rock that go as far as February 2026.

Van Stelle said he is grateful for the love and support that the venue has received. The Rock announced on social media that they are looking to partner with local non-profit organizations in the new year so they can host at least one fundraiser a month for them.

A HUGE SHOUT OUT to Salsaman Photography by Shay Smith for this AWESOME review🤩

On December 14th, metalcore veterans Eyes Set To Kill descended upon Tucson’s historic music venue, The Rock. A room that has hosted legendary acts such as Korn, Goo Goo Dolls, and Nirvana, plus many also may remember it not for a performance, but it being where we lost Lil Peep. The Rock carries decades of musical history. On this night, it added another memorable chapter with a stacked lineup and an incredible celebration of Eyes Set To Kill’s Broken Frames 15-year anniversary.

Headlining the evening, Eyes Set To Kill were joined by touring partners Lauren Babic and Stitched Up Heart, with local support from Hell Doubt and Pyrotechnica.
