We’d like you all to meet our new Barn Table! Long story about this! LOTS of time has been spent putting this back together! This table is made of solid oak and had Webster Lake airbrushed on top. (Officially known as Lake Chargoggagoggmanchauggagoggchaubunagungamaugg…yes that’s it’s actual name) Originally crafted for a customer that lives on the lake, the tabletop itself took a turn for the worst when it split badly in multiple places and actually separated into four separate pieces. Another identical was built for the customer to replace this one only this time made with the oak boards running the long way/horizontally. This table was left for dead outside at a sawmill covered with a tarp for roughly a year. The table now battered, bruised, and faded….the original craftsman wanted it out of the way. He offered it to me just to get it out of his hair. A coworker of his thought it should have just been burned because of the shape it was in. Nothing was straight or remotely flat about this table and probably had more waves than the actual lake itself! Over the last many months, this table has been brought back to life and given a second chance large in part by the original builders and myself along with my wife trying to put the top back on without it falling into more pieces! Clamps, straps, custom brackets, stain, polyurethane, bar top epoxy, and not to mention the table had to be cut to fit in it’s resting place now between two large posts! Now it will be a conversation piece for all to enjoy! “One man’s trash is another man’s treasure” sums this up nicely!
Thank you to Orchard Products for this rising phoenix out of the ashes! David Walter Eddy, Dave DeVeau, Josh, Little Joe, and Charlie Jarmolowicz! I’d also like to give credit to David Laabs of The Airbrush Shack LLC for the airbrushing.
