The 2024 Auggimage Photo of the Year.

"Welcoming Aurora"

So every photo I've ever taken has a story. This night in particular was no different. After a long day, I was settling in and something told me to look outside. Behold the sky was starting to dance with color. Holding my baby girl, I told my wife I need to go... And handed her our daughter. I grabbed my camera and tripod and ran out the door. So when the Aurora occurs time is of the essence. My creative flow was where I should go. First stop the Sah Francisco De Asis Church. Unfortunately the light pollution was too intense. Second was the tipis near the end of town. Grabbed a few beautiful shots, last my mind was like "Get to the Tree"! So I jumped in the car. Timing was perfect as I approached the tree, colors started peaking.
I immediately found where the shot was going to occur and pressed the Shutter..

Here's the results of that night when the sky lit up with color.
