✂️ I chopped my money tree… and yes, it hurt a little 😅🌿
Big plant chops are always scary. You spend years growing a plant taller and fuller, and then one day you’re standing there with pruners thinking… am I about to ruin this?!
But here’s the thing: sometimes a big chop is exactly what a plant needs. ✨
My money tree had gotten tall, stretched out, and sunburnt because I was tired of looking at it in my house.
Cutting it back encourages:
🌱 new growth points
🌱 a fuller, bushier shape
🌱 stronger stems
🌱 a healthier plant long-term
A few money tree care tips:
☀️ Bright, indirect light = happiest growth
💧 Let the soil dry most of the way before watering (they hate sitting wet!)
🪴 Rotate regularly so they grow evenly
✂️ Don’t be afraid to prune — new branches usually sprout right below your cuts!
And the best part? Those pieces don’t have to go in the trash. Money tree cuttings can be propagated! I like to take healthy stem cuttings, remove extra leaves, and give them time to root so they get a second life. 🌿
Your reminder: sometimes plants (and maybe people 😉) need a little reset to come back even better.
Would you chop yours? Or would you stare at it for 6 months and banish it to the porch like I did? 😂
Stay tuned for updates!
