My first setup since the tornado… and what a journey it’s been.

Working through this event was emotionally and physically challenging, but I gave my word that I would honor as many of my contracts as possible—and that’s exactly what I’ve been pushing to do.

Despite everything I’m facing personally and professionally, I’ve continued to put my clients first. This setup marks a major milestone in that commitment.

To everyone who has stood by me—thank you.

As a business owner, it’s not always easy to show your true self. We’re expected to be composed, professional, unshaken. But behind the brand is a real person thats still human.

I’ve always been the strong one. The one others lean on. The one who wipes tears, and never shows my own.
But lately, I’ve learned… strength isn’t about never breaking. Sometimes, it’s in the breaking that God begins to rebuild.
It’s okay to cry.
It’s okay to rest.
It’s okay to not have it all together.
Even God says, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for My power is made perfect in weakness.’ (2 Corinthians 12:9)

So today, I give myself permission to feel, to release, and to be held by the same grace I extend to everyone else.

Because I’m not just surviving. I’m healing.
And that’s a different kind of strength.
The kind that doesn’t pretend… but still presses forward, one breath, one prayer, one day at a time.

I finally had a chance to watch one of the news interviews, and it truly broke my heart. This space was so much more than a business—it was home. It was a place where my clients created lasting memories, but also where my own family built some of our most cherished moments.

My daughter was married here. We celebrated baby showers for my children, birthday parties for my grandchildren, hosted our traditional Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners, and spent countless nights filled with laughter during family karaoke.

This building held so much love, joy, and legacy. I will forever hold on to the memories we made within those walls.

Thank you, God, for the time we had here. Please continue to order my steps as I move forward.

Hi family, friends, and community donations are still needed as we navigate through this tragedy. Please donate or send my fundraiser to people you know. Your support will help us during this devastating time. We lost our home, business, and damage to our vehicles. We are safe but currently living in a hotel which is very costly. Anything helps. Thank you to everyone that has donated and or supported us in any way. We appreciate you.
For those asking and to be transparent, Yes I had business insurance. What i wasnt aware if is that I only had liability insurance. Therefore insurance covers clients and rental building itself, but it DOES NOT cover me or any of my belongings.

Calling All Venue Owners & Event Professionals
I’m reaching out not for a handout, but for support and collaboration.

Due to the devastating tornado that destroyed my venue, I am urgently seeking available event spaces to accommodate clients who were already scheduled through the end of June. My calendar was fully booked, with 37 events planned between now and June 30th, including a repass tomorrow that now needs an immediate alternative.

I understand that your rates may differ from mine, and I’m not looking for anything free — just open to any reasonable options. If you or someone you know has a venue or space available, please reach out. I’m doing everything I can to prevent my tragedy from becoming my clients’ tragedy.

This is about serving families who trusted Heaven Sent Events during life’s most important moments. I care deeply about each of them and want to find solutions wherever possible.

I want to sincerely apologize for all the missed calls and messages. My phone was also destroyed yesterday, and I’m currently unable to answer or see who’s calling my personal number.

Today has been incredibly overwhelming and emotional. If I’ve seemed distant or off, please know I’m just trying to process everything. I truly appreciate everyone who has shown up, helped, or supported me in any way — your kindness means the world.

Last night I stayed with my Goddaughter, and tonight I’m with my sister. I am safe, and that’s a blessing I don’t take for granted. Loising my business and having my home impacted at the same time is a bit much. Thank you all for your continued prayers and love.

With a heavy heart Im sharing the devastating news that our venue, Heaven Sent Events, was severely impacted by the tornado that struck St. Louis on yesterday. Our entire space including the building, equipment, and inventory—has been completely destroyed.

We are thankful beyond words that no one was injured and that our scheduled guests had not yet arrived at the time the tornado hit. While the physical loss is heartbreaking, the preservation of life is a miracle we don’t take lightly. We are alive and for that, we are grateful.

We know how much planning, anticipation, and love go into your events. Please accept our deepest apologies for the disruption this may cause to your upcoming celebration. As of today, I do not have all the answers, but I will be actively working on next steps including the possibility of relocating your event or assisting in any way I can during this unexpected crisis.

This is a time of immense challenge, but also a time to lean into community, prayer, and perseverance. I ask for your grace, understanding, and continued prayers as we begin to recover and rebuild. I will be in direct communication with each affected client as soon as possible to discuss updates and support.

Honoring the Life and Legacy of Whitfield Montgomery

Yesterday, we had the privilege of hosting the repass for the late Whitfield Montgomery, a man whose impact on our community will never be forgotten. We extend our heartfelt condolences to his family and loved ones during this difficult time. It was truly an honor to provide a space where friends, family, and colleagues could come together to celebrate his life and legacy.

A special thank you to Mr. Michael McMillan, President of the Urban League, for referring our venue and entrusting us with this important occasion. Your continued support means the world to us.

We also want to express our gratitude to Mr. Montgomery for his dedicated service to our community. His contributions have left a lasting imprint, and his legacy will continue to inspire many. Additionally, we appreciate all the city officials and leaders who work tirelessly to uplift and support our community each day. Your service does not go unnoticed.

May his memory live on, and may we all strive to continue the work he was so passionate about.
