Connecting a community through the arts - The Springfield Arts Council
Since 1967, The Springfield Arts Council presents the annual "Summer Arts Festival," providing admission-free concerts, theater, and entertainment experiences from mid-June through mid-July at the Turner Pavilion in Veterans Park Amphitheater in downtown Springfield, OH. “Always Fun, Always Free!,” the Summer Arts Festival is a treasured tradition in the community, helping to fulfill the Springfield Arts Council’s mission “...to build a better community by sharing the performing arts with all citizens of Springfield, Clark County, and the region.”
The Springfield Arts Council is also an area leader in bringing nationally touring artists, concerts and attractions to the community for more than 40 years, presenting programming at Kuss Auditorium and at The John Legend Theater.
The Springfield Arts Council’s "Arts in the Classroom" program adds value to school arts curricula by annually making professional performing artists available to area schools, and the award-winning "Youth Arts Ambassadors" program of mentored workshops and performances (presented for and by area young people) helps to promote self-esteem and responsibility, while building future arts audiences and strengthening the Springfield Arts Council’s mission and involvement in the Springfield, OH community.
